Shit. My wedding dress is like Danielle Lloyd's and its getting slated online

It's too late to change my dress and everyone online is commenting that the style is outdated and tacky. I was sent the link from my sister and its the daily mail (so won't link) but if no ones seen it, it's a sweetheart neckline mermaid tail dress. It's almost identical to mine.

The fact I'm not a fan of hers makes it worse!!

I don't know why I'm posting. Nowt I can do about now but.... Waaaaahhhh

Give me a virtual slap and remind me I love the dress and it's not outdated, it's fun and pretty and there are bigger problems in the world Confused

Just came on to say thanks to everyone for replying. My mad panic has gone and I've had a look at some pics of me in the dress, and I do love it.

I did chuckle at the comments about what the groom was wearing hypocrite, much?

To clear up the questions of my sister - she honestly wasn't being malicious. She thinks Danielle looks stunning and thinks its confirmation that I am "on trend". She originally saw it on OK magazine but the OK magazine website only had about 2 pics. We were looking for more pics online and she found the daily mail one and sent me it.

And YY to the PP who say its a badge of honour that the dress be slated by daily fail readers Grin

Op it’s only natural to have a few jitters about some aspect of the wedding. My daughter had sleevegate..

You will look stunning on your wedding day 😁

Mermaiddress · 25/04/2019 12:11

sleevegate? I'm intrigued

I always thought I would go for sleeves because, well, unlike Danielle, I don't have svelte arms. And I am a bit nervous about having them out TBH

Glad I could help

Personally, it's not my favourite silhouette of all time, but if you feel amazing in it who cares what other people think?

notsodimwit · 25/04/2019 13:55

just googled it and its lovely ...you will look beautiful

PunishmentSnart · 25/04/2019 14:03

I think it’s lovely!

Brandaris · 25/04/2019 14:21

I’m a bridal seamstress. If you want more train please contact your seamstress ASAP so she can get started, don’t be one of those brides who rocks up a month before their wedding asking for changes like that! In the season construction like that needs to be planned ahead as good seamstress are likely to be working all hours to keep up.

Can be done but as above the fabric match is key. The shop you bought your dress from may be able to order more net/ tulle/ horsehair braid and lining etc to match although it would be cheaper to try to find something similar elsewhere.

I think it's lovely.
