Just that really, what one unsolved crime/mystery/news story do toy wish would be solved?

For me, its Madeleine McCann. It may well just be because of the age I am, its one of the first ones I remember really clearly as it happened.

What about you?

Daniel Entwistle and April Fabb...both fairly local to me.

Such an interesting case

I had nightmares after this thread. Elisa Lam is especially terrifying - watched the lift cctv which is weird looks like it’s been altered. Her mouth has certainly been pixilated and some seems to be missing. Poor girl

sheepsheep · 09/04/2019 16:07

Cassie Kay Compton disappeared from Stuttgart Arkansas aged 15. She had been out with friends, was dropped off home, it is thought she went into the house but left again soon after and was never seen again.

This case is just heartbreaking. Her father is a RSO and her mum is also but she had custody of Cassie at the time. The mums boyfriend is super suspicious but despite some crazy circumstances and his generally weird behaviour the police didn't seem to be interested and couldn't (or weren't trying hard enough) to make things stick.

Cassie was just invisible and really let down by so many around her.

Also local to me, Lisa Dorrian. They began new searches last week for her, I really hope that they are able to find answers for her family.

Nabootique · 09/04/2019 16:24

The Marconi deaths.
Lisanne Froon and Kris Kremers.

PinkOboe · 09/04/2019 16:25

Linda Razzell, her husband was imprisoned for her murder but has vehemently protested his innocence since, no body has ever been found. Linda had links to Christopher Halliwell (who murdered Sian O'Callaghan and Becky Godden-Edwards - and quite plausibly others too)

Charlene Downes from Blackpool....poor soul. You rarely, if, ever hear anything about her.

WillGymForPizza · 09/04/2019 17:25

Ive heard the rumours about Jill Dando and the pedophile ring before. The story goes that she was about to expose them publicly. I don't know what to believe, but I certainly don't believe that Barry George killed her and never have. It was quite obviously a professional 'hit' but why?

IMO the police messed up badly and vital evidence was lost. The evidence against Barry George is circumstantial and flimsy at best, they just wanted someone put away for it.

restingbitchfarce · 09/04/2019 17:39

Lee Boxell who went missing in 1988. My brother went to that school in the 80's

People don't just disappear, someone must know where all these people are and I don't just mean those who are responsible. To remove all traces of murdering someone to not raising suspicions with others to where you are must mean other people must have an inkling of suspicion

34plus4 · 09/04/2019 17:53

JonBenet Ramsay - was it Burke? Did her parents finish the job? Was it all over a bowl of pineapple? Was it a complete stranger? Argh!

Lynette Dawson - I think Chris did it, but what if he didn't? Where is she? What happened to her?

Kathleen Peterson - did he do it? If not WHAT happened? Owl theory, anyone?

Madeleine - obvs

Elisa lam - that video!

Diana, I definitely think it was a complete accident but I'm still not over it, can't believe she died! Some strange things about the case and would love to know the whole truth.

Golden State killer was on my list but that god they've found him now.

dustarr73 · 09/04/2019 17:54

Amy Fitzpatrick who disappeared in 2008 in Spain. Her mothers partner was convicted of the manslaughter her brother in 2013

LarryGreysonsDoor · 09/04/2019 18:17

For the poster upthread who mentioned the Black Dahlia case there is a fascinating podcast which is kind of about it called Root of Evil.
It’s hosted by two sisters who think it was their grandfather, and with good reason

LarryGreysonsDoor · 09/04/2019 18:22

I agree about Daniel Entwistle.
It’s so sad that a 7 year old could go missing in this country and no one cares. A suspicious person might think it was because he wasn’t a middle class girl with parents who knew how to work the media.

Claudia Lawrence
Elizabeth Short (The Black Dahlia case)

amusedbush · 09/04/2019 19:33

The theory about Jon Benet being killed by her brother is pretty convincing. It looks like he smacked her over the head during a fight and her parents covered it up.

Personally I’m itching to know what happened to the Malaysian Airline flight. It just VANISHED Confused

Palominoo · 09/04/2019 19:41

Personally, I don’t think her brother killed her but that’s just a gut feeling as I have no evidence either way.

The possibility of a stun gun being used indicates an intruder

Morticiaismymumgoal · 09/04/2019 20:01

What strange things were there about Diana's death?

Palominoo · 09/04/2019 20:06

The only strange thing about Diana’a death is the not wearing of a seat belt.

Apart from the obvious personal risk of injury or death, I thought it would invalidate insurance in the event of a claim.

Morticiaismymumgoal · 09/04/2019 20:07

And weren't there signs of JonBenet being sexually assaulted? Would the parents have staged that if her brother had killed her? And if I remember correctly (maybe I should check!) she was strangulated with a broom handle or something- again would her own parents go to those lengths after one kid bashing the other over the head and killing her? A lot of the other stuff does point to it being 'in house' but if it was I think it was something far more sinister than a sibling fight gone wrong. I do think there was an intruder of some kind.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 09/04/2019 20:19

Taman shud (careful if you Google it you will more than likely see a pic of the poor mans body) and the Beaumont children.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 09/04/2019 20:20

@screwymcscrewup I didn't know the somerton man was close to a solve. Its always fascinated me.
