Meghan's letter to her dad in The Sunday Fail

really? Is this for real? She sent her dad a letter last August and he said she hasn't tried to contact her. He just gave the letter to the tabloids. If this is real he hasn't told the truth about anything.

I feel for Meghan too. She is expecting her first baby very shortly, she doesn't need all this stuff. If the letter is real, shame on her Dad for sharing it and shame on the Daily Fail for publishing it.

This is unfolding like a telenovela. If this is a real letter sent last August I am 100% with Meghan. Poor woman.

Isn’t this exactly what’s been said for months? That she’s too afraid to contact him as he’ll take it to the press? Maybe people should ease up on her now as it’s clear the only interest her father has in Meghan is financial.

I'm not a huge Meghan fan but this is a terrible violation of privacy. It is hard to see a way back to their relationship from here. Such a shame she did not take Harry to visit her dad early on. I think if he had been included he might have behaved better.

Or maybe her dad could just act like an decent adult and behave. I am NC with my dad as he is a horrible person and quite frankly I am so glad it isn't being played out in the media because they just make it all about themselves without taking any responsibility for their behaviour. I feel sorry for the women.

Thomas Markle has shown himself to be a shocking liar, who has betrayed Meghan in the most painful way possible.

The DM of course love the story as they have nothing but hate for Meghan and run stories in order to generate as many hateful and racist comments as possible.

I suspect the reason Meghan didn't take Harry to see her Dad is because she knew he (Thomas) had this, 'lets make this into a photo op', streak to his personality.

This is going to make him look like the idiot he really is, I can’t understand why he would decide to reveal this - he must be super desperate for money as it won’t do him any favours.

I have a difficult and toxic family - people just don’t get it unless you’ve lived it. I feel very sorry for her.

bevelino The comments have been disabled under the story, which is highly unusual for the Mail. I think they realise public opinion is going to favour her after this, but they don't want to put the dad off from flogging his tawdry stories to them, which might happen if he sees 1000s of comments slagging him off.

I've never believed a word he's said about her not contacting him. He's the worst kind of gas-lighting narcissistic parent. That bit in his reply about them posing for a picture? Ugh.

If MM posted her story anonymously on here, everyone would be screaming at her to go NC. I hope she ignores him for the rest of her life now.

I feel really, really sorry for Meghan. She's had all this shit in the press saying "why not reach out to her dad?" She did, but he's so money driven and full of spite that he couldn't even keep that private.

The mail have cherry picked the bits of the letter they want to use so they can stir the pot and keep going with the narrative that it's all Meghan's fault. It's absolutely awful. I think it's safe to safe Baby Sussex won't be meeting its grandfather anytime soon.

Maybe now the bitter horde of naysayers will agree she was right to cut out the Markle side.
She probably had an inkling he would do this but was so desperate she sent it anyway.
How can a man receive this from his child and still expose her like that? I'd go to my grave never speaking to him again.

I feel for her, she has not taken Harry to see him because she knew what he was like, Money hungry, just like that disgraceful excuse of a sister she has been encumbered with. I have felt from the start that the press have hounded Meghan relentlessly, if she makes Harry happy and he makes her happy why do we need the constant stream of nasty articles in the press. Her mother has not said a peep, a lovely, graceful woman who really does have her daughters best interests at heart.

Can’t believe the victim blaming post above. Had he and indeed her sister conducted themselves respectfully, they would have been at the wedding. I was a bit confused about his sudden non attendance at the time. I can absolutely see it wasn’t a mistake not to visit him after the wedding. He needs to learn respect not the other way round. Good on her for doing her best to protect the rf from her toxic family members.

It’s funny that he doesn’t see the issue still in replying asking for a public photo.
