I love a musical.

Seen most but saw Book of Mormon last night, good lord it's amazing!
So funny, so inappropriate, so non pc.

What's your favourite?

Two guesses what I’m going to see in a few weeks?

Loved Mormon, we are going again in Manchester and allowing the kids to come.

Hamilton isn’t necessarily my favourite musical but it’s the best piece of theatre I’ve ever seen.

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie was fantastic.

Going to Kinky Boots on Saturday.

HouseyMcHouseFace · 31/01/2019 20:40

Another vote for Hamilton. I saw it in September and have listened to the soundtrack non-stop since.

Book of Mormon is brilliant too though

BartonHollow · 31/01/2019 20:41

Wait Wait Wait @Comefromaway Mormon is coming to Manchester ?!

Fuck yes!

My kids are hoping Be More Chill comes across here at some point. Ds is learning all the songs.

And today is the deadline to sign up for Dear Evan Hansen early booking.

Comefromaway · 31/01/2019 20:42

They just released extra dates for Mormon in Manchester. I have ATG membership so got priority booking.

Sirzy · 31/01/2019 20:43

I love wicked.

Going to see Les Mis for the first time and blood brothers for the 5th in the next few months

Comefromaway · 31/01/2019 20:43

I am very excited for Come From Away. Previews opened last night and reaction so far is great.

frasersmummy · 31/01/2019 20:44

Barnum .. the original of the greatest showman..

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 31/01/2019 20:44

I love Phantom, Starlight Express, Les Mis and Miss Saigon.

Was recently impressed by Bat Out Of Hell, but think it's finished now.

Svalberg · 31/01/2019 20:46

Sharon D Clarke is superb in Caroline, or Change

MrsMoggy · 31/01/2019 20:47

I’m going to kinky boots tomorrow, seen it before and it’s brilliant. Also going to rock of ages in 2 weeks for the fourth time, pure cheese but I love the music.

I would say Les Mis is my favourite though, saw it years ago in London and was blown away, way before the Hugh jackman film made it popular.

The take that musical I really enjoyed too and Joseph.

Things I’ve seen that were good but I probably wouldn’t bother again:

Wicked (amazing songs but I get fed up of the story)
Matilda (overhyped)
Rocky horror

PetraDelphiki · 31/01/2019 20:48

Can’t believe no one has mentioned Six (currently on at arts theatre london)...about Henry viii wives! Absolutely brilliant....

PinguForPresident · 31/01/2019 20:50

Hamilton is the best thing in the West End at the moment.

Company is spectacular, but closing soon.

The recent West End revival of Chess was fabulous.

Matilda, Aladdin, Lion King are all great fun if you're taking kids. Wicked is even better.

BartonHollow · 31/01/2019 20:50

I've got a good chance of getting tickets for Mormon. Fingers crossed. I'll get onto it in the morning

Muddlingalongalone · 31/01/2019 20:52

Starlight Express, Miss Saigon, Cats & definitely Hamilton.
Loved Legally Blonde, Priscilla, Mary Poppins & most recently & surprisingly Strictly Ballroom.

Love the story & music from West Side Story but only ever seen local productions/film.

GrubbyHipsterBeard · 31/01/2019 20:52

Phantom is my ultimate favourite!

Also love Les Mis, Miss Saigon, Matilda, Book of Mormon. Desperate to see Hamilton.

Only one I didn’t like was Once which was massively up its own arse.

I even quite liked Love Never Dies as the music is incredible despite a terrible concept.

lurker101 · 31/01/2019 20:54

Parade, Wicked and Miss Saigon

anniehm · 31/01/2019 21:06

Love les mis, but miss Saigon is my favourite as it was the first big one I saw, opening cast. Seen most of the older ones but as we don't live in London it's a rare treat to go to the west end and we tend to opt for plays as they are easier to get tickets for

Darklane · 31/01/2019 21:33

Hello Dolly
Chorus Line
Mack and Mabel
South Pacific
Singin' in the Rain

hatethinkingofusernames · 31/01/2019 21:40

Book of Mormon is my favourite! Thriller was also up there! Worst I've seen is Matilda.

Comefromaway · 31/01/2019 21:43

I’m now getting adverts for Avenue Q!

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 31/01/2019 21:43

I have Mormon tickets for the summer Smile.
I LOVED Hamilton. Just an amazing piece of art.

I thought Matilda was fabulous, and a lot more of the songs stuck with me compared with Wicked, which I saw in the same month - can only remember Defying Gravity.

Hoping to get tickets for Dreamgirls when the tour's announced. Am pleased to here that Jamie will be touring as well.

Comefromaway · 31/01/2019 21:44

Annie same here. Got on a coach to London age 16 with a school friend to see Miss Saigon at Drury Lane.

PhilomenaButterfly · 31/01/2019 21:44

Go and see it Comefrom! It's so funny!

Comefromaway · 31/01/2019 21:45

The only show I really didn’t rate much was Cats.
