How ill am I?

Temperature of 41, which isn't shifting after taking paracetamol about an hour ago.

Very cold hands.

Feel really cold and can't stop shivering.

No voice, and a disgusting cough. Not really a sore throat.

Very runny nose.

Stomach ache.

I'm compos mentis although I feel a bit woozy when standing up.

I'm not one for going to the doctors and obviously it's a hideous time of day/year to be having to see an ooh gp. Also, Dd is asleep in bed and we'd have to wake her and take her with us because we have no childcare.

But if the consensus is that I need to see a doctor tonight I'll go.

Or tell me to bugger off to bed and stop being a drama queen! Xmas Smile

Glad you're relatively ok! My step dad had pneumonia that went in to sepsis last Christmas and was very ill. Don't take it lightly you will need time to recover.

Burnt0range · 29/12/2018 00:22

Please keep updating us, OP.

I will be praying for you.

So glad you're being treated OP.

Can the doubters who love to point out that someone posting on MN 'can't be that ill' and disbelievers that a grown woman isn't capable of taking her own temperature please learn something from this. I worry that at some point a poster will listen to replies like some of the ones on this thread and not seek much needed medical help.

I just wanted to come back and say that I'm now pretty much fully recovered!

Thank you everyone who replied. I had this feeling that something was really wrong, but I didn't want to burden the NHS. It was good to get so many people telling me what I already knew deep down, and urging me to seek urgent help.

Once payday rolls around, I will make a donation to the Sepsis Trust as a thank you to you all. Thanks

That is good news. Glad you’re on the mend. Did the blood tests confirm sepsis? How scary for you. 💐
