Popped on this thread by accident and now I'm hooked and need updates

Hi keyra, can I be really cheeky and ask for an update? I think there are quite a few folks who would also love to know what the latest is too.

Hello lovely people. I don't know how to tell you this but things are not going well :(. We've had a lovely few weeks but - he's not for me. He's a lovely lovely man, but too organised, too conventional and too much like my ex dh.

We will always be friends but that's it. Interestingly, cb and I have reached new heights in our relationship (not that it can be called that really). We went out shopping for materials earlier in the week, and we are in regular text contact of an evening. Cg has moved on to next job but is directing cb via phone. It's all very friendly and amicable but, I will admit, disappointing.

Planning permission has been approved and - possible future info of interest - cb's Dad is going to finish extension off as csb (who dropped by earlier in the week) is too busy. So watch this space!

Oh and - Tp is in Spain. Don't blame him ...

I'm so sad for you, but it was fun while it lasted.

Dd decided she didn't like him and he was one of those people who look better in his work clothes ...

No I don't fancy him anymore, I know how old he is now and he's far too young. But somehow, inexplicably, we've become friends.

I had a date with the office fed ex delivery guy. I had the biggest crush on him. Saw him out of uniform on the date and went right off him!

Ahhhh, well that's lovely. Male friends are great!

Oh bless you keyra, I hope you're ok. Such a horrible feeling when a will-we-won't-we comes to fruition and then quickly fizzles out.

You said you'd been single for a while, so I hope at least this has awakened something in you (ahem). And you clearly have much love from a stack of MNers, even if we aren't sexy toothless builders (speaking for myself).

And most importantly, extension is go, so yay! Keep us updated!

I’m sorry it hasn’t worked out although I think you’ll have had a lovely boost of confidence and some fun too. Your tales have certainly kept us going I’m pleased the extension is going to plan. Here’s to the future and our mumsnet party to officially open it we will all bring a bottle

Thank you for all your lovely messages, it wouldn't have been the same without you folks! I'm fine and, if nothing else, I've made some friends (in rl and on mn). And um, how to put it, have been to places I haven't been in a while ... The trouble with that of course is that once you've started travelling you want to see more of the world. As it were.

Anyway - busy day tomorrow. Cb's dad is here (cbd?), his mate the chippie from Doncaster, and hairy floorfitter. Possibly elderly electrician too. I have seen cbd, and yes he is good looking but is attached. The mate from Doncaster isn't bad either but I know nothing about his circumstances and I think I'd better keep my head down for a bit!

Oh I forgot to say - just to complicate matters, cb's dad is here tomorrow, and cb's step Dad (who has the same first name as cb) will be here sometime in the week! Haven't met the stepdad yet.

@Keyra I need to know which part of the country you’re in where you get this conveyor belt of easy on the eye trades, I’m in The south east and I can tell you there’s seemingly sod all in my neck of the woods 😂

Firstly I’m glad things with your extension seem to be improving, that’s good news. And I’m sorry cg wasn’t the fairytale ending but it does sound like you both had a jolly good time on the way anyway!

Still think you should turn this into a novel. You’re a good writer and this has been such an engaging story!

Hey Candle I'm in the south east too. I have to say that having good looking men in the house is a novelty - apart from my own boys of course! The mate from Doncaster is more of a nice man/easy to joke with than good looking. Dare I say he's a less good looking version of Cg ...

They've been here all day today, and back again tomorrow. I'm so grateful that they're willing to push on - the delays that the extension caused have probably made this the slowest building project ever.

Is the extension finished yet?!
