Have you ever gone off a celebrity because of something they've done?

I used to really like Ewan McGregor until he had an affair.

Same with Robson Green in the 90s.

I loved Michael Moriarty (still do) but he's become a huge loony and an old soak.

Liked Ant McPartlin before the drink driving and infidelity.

Have you ever liked a celeb and then gone off them because of something they've said or done? Does it just prove that celebs are human like the rest of us?

Danny John Jules for not being as cheery and easy going as I thought he would be on Strictly. Obviously not a big deal compared to most on this thread Grin but I have gone off him a bit as a result!

TheSmallClangerWhistlesAgain · 19/11/2018 21:47

I used to think the figure skater Johnny Weir was delightfully weird until I found out he is a militant fur-wearer.

He also battered his husband.

Shampaincharly · 19/11/2018 21:50

Denzel Washington
He said he would not kiss a white woman in a film because he would not do it in real life

Acting , dear ?

rabbitmat · 19/11/2018 21:52

I thought Tom Jones was a national treasure type until I found out that he has a son that he totally abandoned. I hate men like that - how hard would it have been to have acknowledged his child?

MamaRaisingBoys · 19/11/2018 21:57

@PoliticalBiscuit apparently after he split with his sons mum he took back the offer to pay for private school. But he never told her until the application window for state schools was closed, so they were allocated a rubbish school ages away

PoliticalBiscuit · 19/11/2018 22:13

Shock Bloody hell!

What a dick.

Aworldofmyown · 19/11/2018 22:38

Ewan Mcgregor upsets me still Sad I used to absolutely love him.
Something went wrong for me after he did the long way round with Charlie Boorman.

RoseLavenderBlue · 19/11/2018 22:39

Robbie Williams, when he did those big concerts at Knebworth years ago. There was a young girl right next to the stage with one of those disposable cameras (pre mobile phones). He took the phone off her and took a couple of photos of her from the stage. Then instead of handing it back, threw it far into the crowd. I felt so sorry for her as she would have treasured those photos she took from the front row, I bet she didn’t get it back.

James Martin, I saw him at a cookery demo a few years ago, and before he put the food on the plate, lifted the plate up and licked it all over! Was so smug and entitled.

kayakingmum · 19/11/2018 22:41

I liked Sandra Bullock until I learned she uses face cream made from the foreskin of babies.

Shock WTAF?! This is a thing?

SarahBeeney · 19/11/2018 23:27

Yes,Ben Miller the comedian. We were working at the same event,I was heavily pregnant and he didn't offer me his seat. It really pissed me off (we were hanging around backstage for ages).

NorthenderNamechanger · 19/11/2018 23:35

Ray Mears. Met him through work as he was a speaker. Also an arse.
No! Don't break my heart!
Blush

Binglebong · 19/11/2018 23:43

Sorry!

Gushpanka · 19/11/2018 23:51

Roger Waters. Raging anti Semite. Still love the music though so a dilemma...

ginghambox · 20/11/2018 00:21

Patrick Stewart , Because he turned into a whining remoaner.

Crunched · 20/11/2018 00:26

Most men who were around in the 70’s
Bit of a generalisation.
David Jason was inappropriately dismissive to a young friend of mine.
I stayed at a hotel when Jonathan Ross (and his whole family who seemed really sound) were staying and he was very pleasant to everyone, as opposed to Peter André at the same place who just ignored the other guests.

MsJuniper · 20/11/2018 00:35

So many fallen idols; perhaps this is the demise of celebrity culture?

Agree on loads of these esp Johnny Depp.

I used to really fancy Russell Brand until I read his second book which was just him defending his mate who definitely didn't rape anyone.

On a personal level, Ralph Fiennes as he caused me an administrational nightmare. But I have no reason to believe he intended to do so.

The Tom Hiddleston thing wasn't so much that it was a big scandal or drama, just he seemed so much less attractive after the whole affair. Poor Tom. Funny that that seems to have affected his career more than some of the horrific stuff other men have done.

AngeloMysterioso · 20/11/2018 00:39

MsJuniper I think it's because in a way it emasculated him. He'd always been pretty low key before that, then he started dating Taylor and suddenly it's pap walks all over the world and ridiculous lovey dovey Instagram pictures and that absurd tank top, and you know for a fact that it was her calling the shots the whole time.

Patroclus · 20/11/2018 01:19

ohhhh have a look at what Tom Jones got up to in the 70s that they can print in the US but arnt allowed to in the UK.

SimplySteve · 20/11/2018 01:32

Glenn Hoddle, with his comments disabled people were being punished for something done in a previous life.

I admired Gazza after he beat booze, and an amazing footie player. The comments over the years from various women made me bleurgh, the news yesterday shows he hasn't changed. Who's betting he blames booze?

alfagirl73 · 20/11/2018 02:28

Lots of comments about Johnny Depp here... I'd assumed that by now everyone had seen the court papers which were made public and which actually vindicated him. The court papers in which Amber Heard ADMITTED in sworn testimony that it was SHE who was violent to HIM - not the other way around. He was royally stitched up - I'm just glad the truth can now be seen in the court documents.

I've met Johnny Depp on many occasions, talked to him quite a bit - he is a really really nice guy - very sweet, humble and gracious and people's perceptions of him from pictures and tabloids couldn't be further from the reality.

Denzel Washington won't kiss white women? I'm sure I saw a film in which he did? Off to Google...

Shampaincharly · 20/11/2018 06:56

He did say that .
Maybe it was once he was famous, or maybe he was joking.

LaDaronne · 20/11/2018 07:00

face cream made from the foreskin of babies
