Have you ever gone off a celebrity because of something they've done?

I used to really like Ewan McGregor until he had an affair.

Same with Robson Green in the 90s.

I loved Michael Moriarty (still do) but he's become a huge loony and an old soak.

Liked Ant McPartlin before the drink driving and infidelity.

Have you ever liked a celeb and then gone off them because of something they've said or done? Does it just prove that celebs are human like the rest of us?

Oh yes, Zoella. Sinister bullshit peddling con woman whose target market are kids. Lovely.

BehemothPullsThePeasantsPlough · 19/11/2018 14:29

You don’t need to change your legal name where there’s an Equity clash, you can just use a stage name. Some actors take the name change into all areas of their life and some less so.

Just putting a word in for Stephen Fry (and Hugh Laurie) who were filming near us at the beginning of their careers and they were perfectly lovely to my ten year old son and his friends who plagued them for a good ten minutes or so. Both charming.

PawneeParksDept · 19/11/2018 15:08

Both Suggs (Zoella and Joe) and her boyfriend Alfie make me Hmmtheir SOLE job is to sell products and lifestyle envy to children

DoubleNegativePanda · 19/11/2018 15:10

Chris Pratt. I really fancied him until I found out the straw that broke the camel's back for Anna Faris was that he'd voted for Donald Trump. I already divorced a tea-party conservative (for more reasons that that, admittedly) so I can understand why she divorced him. I'm especially disgusted now that I know he neglects animals. WANKER!

Grin imagining the delightful Angie Bowie deciding she'd like to be known as Angie JonesGrin

TheLastNigel · 19/11/2018 17:08

James McAVoy for dumping his lovely wife and then being seen getting close to his x men co star who was about 18

JeanBodel · 19/11/2018 17:12

Can't believe no one has mentioned Mel Gibson yet, maybe I'm older than the rest of you. Fancied him in the 1980's.

TheChineseChicken · 19/11/2018 17:15

Some of these grievances seem a bit OTT. I understand disliking those who have committed crimes or behaved despicably but some of you seem to expect everyone to behave like saints. 'I saw him made a rude comment once and went right off him' Hmm

TheChineseChicken · 19/11/2018 17:16

And why shouldn't a 40 year old marry a 26 year old and have 3 children with her?! Bizarre

VerbeenaBeeks · 19/11/2018 17:20

Must admit the 26 year old with a 40 year old has me baffled as well! What on earth's wrong with that? Confused

Charley50 · 19/11/2018 17:21

I love Jay Raynor too. He's so funny on his food programme on Radio 4.

Hate all famous tax evaders. They get paid millions for doing something they love. Give something back.

derxa · 19/11/2018 17:27

I love Jay Raynor too. He's so funny on his food programme on Radio 4 Me too. He also speaks up for farmers which is very rare amongst the liberal bubble.

SavageBeauty73 · 19/11/2018 17:39

I've met Simon Pegg in real life and he's so unbelievably rude. I felt like binning my Spaced DVD's.

Patroclus · 19/11/2018 17:44

Kurt Cobain is massively unfair. He had had an extremely fucked up childhood and already had a few goes at suicide before gettig famous, in a town people took heroin like other people drink.

He did a hell of a lot for feminist, rape and bosnian charities and backed it up with his actions.

Saw this story today and thought it belonged in this thread: guy from Ace of Base was a huge Nazi.

noisey.vice.com/en_uk/article/rm35nr/ace-of-bases-secret-nazi-past

Not necessarily a huge fan of his but I do have The Sign on my Spotify

PawneeParksDept · 19/11/2018 17:45

@TheLastNigel

I think you've got the wrong girl...

Sophie Turner was cringeworthy during the X Men press trying to get notice from James McAvoy who seemed embarrassed by it
She's now engaged to a Jonas

Jennifer Lawrence on the other hand....

He was pictured in her trailer in nightwear.

Which makes two marriages mentioned on thread her name has come up in gossip about.

TheLastNigel · 19/11/2018 17:57

It wasn't Sophie Turner....

YesThisIsMe · 19/11/2018 18:13

Jay Rayner took the last scoop of the icecream flavour I fancied on a hot day once. In his defence he didn’t deliberately gazump me, he was walking out the door with it when I came in. Still never quite forgiven him but I will admit that he seems lovely otherwise.

kenandbarbie · 19/11/2018 18:22

Did James McAvoy have an affair with Jennifer Lawrence?

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 19/11/2018 18:22

Back in the dark ages, when I was about 12 and Clint Eastwood was Rowdy Yates in Rawhide, I had a secret crush on him. Still had a very soft spot for him for many years - until he cancelled a scheduled trip to the UK after some terrorist event - because he, who'd always played the Oh So Tough Guy in so many films, was too scared to get on a plane!

I've despised him for a pathetic coward ever since.

Sammysquiz · 19/11/2018 18:24

Richard Hammond - when he returned to Top Gear after his accident and he, Clarkson & May took the piss out of disabled people (they passed him tissues because people with head injuries dribble, ha ha very hilarious). You’d think after just having survived a massive head injury he’d have spared a thought for those who weren’t as fortunate as him in their recovery.

Any celebrity who advertises something they obviously would never use. I can believe Julia Roberts uses Lancôme make-up or whatever, but those radio ads with Philip Schofield advertising We Buy Anycar?! That’s who you ring when you want to flog one of your Porsches is it Phil? Can swallow it more if they’re z-list and skint, but it’s just greed when a highly-paid person does it.

Prince Andrew - my brother used to work for him and he’s an absolute arse (Andrew, not my brother Grin). And was an arse to everyone on his staff.

TheLastNigel · 19/11/2018 18:57

It was Alexandra Shipp...sorry didn't finish what I was saying as got interrupted by my Jack Russell Smile

PawneeParksDept · 19/11/2018 19:17

@TheLastNigel
