Too embarassed for work tomorrow

I've just had an 'organic perm'. Nothing like what I expected and it's way more obvious than I'd hoped.

And I have that same horrible feeling as I did so many years ago when I'd be embarrassed to go to the school the day after a bad haircut!

Probably the first thing people will say is something along the lines of "WTF, have you had a perm?" (in a large open plan office) and I just don't want to admit that I have even though it's obvious.

Any advice or bad hair stories welcome!

OP did you pineapple or wrap your hair when you went to bed? If I don't do one of these things, my hair is completely mad in the mornings!

This has brought back memories of my one and only perm, back in 1988. I had fine, straight blonde hair almost to my waist: went in asking for 'just a bit of wave and body' and came out with an ear-length ball of frizz about a yard wide with a stupid horizontal fringe. I soaked it and tried to pull it straight but it didn't help, and I ended up having to pin it tightly back with combs for about six months. Have literally never been to a hairdresser since! I'm sure yours will drop and look lovely in a week or two though, OP!

But yes, I can confirm the schoolboy thing - my 11-year-old DS has recently asked for 'that haircut where it's short on the sides and all curly on top' - and there have even been [[https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/schoolboy-kicked-out-class-after-10176352 sadface newspaper stories]] about it Confused

You can totally style it out if curly before and just say you’ve diffused it and it’s gone mad. That and wear it up
Reminds me of sobbing in the 80s and even very early 90ds when I got Audrey Roberts instead of Julia Roberts.

Sorry missed that you’d bee. In. When you do wash it just treat it with a lot of moisturising. Good luck
