I'm currently "teaching" myself to play the tin whistle using Pinterest and YouTube. It's really tough and I'm crap. I just think I'm unteachable. I tried learning knitting and can cast on and do a normal row but can't figure how to purl. Have any of you lot successfully taught yourself something really fun or crafty? I'm looking for inspiration. I lose interest quickly if I don't grasp it. Blush

Crochet.
And the Pitch Perfect cups routine! Though it's been a while since I practised, so may need a refresher.
Different loom band patterns, though they have since slipped from my memory!

I’ve taight myself how to cut my own hair, repair jewellery (change the latches and hoops on earrings so I actually wear them), joint a chicken, play the ukulele (I have 3 now, I’m addicted!), use illustration software, and probably loads more I’ve forgotten. I mend and fix things too like the ice function on the fridge.

What is the Cups routine? I've seen the film but years ago.

Roll my tongue. As a high school biology project. Apparently it's impossible but I proved that wrong!

Another one - making rag rugs.

I taught myself how to video edit and now it's part of my job at work.

Also taught myself how to balloon model. It came in handy when I was working as an entertainment manager on Brittany Ferries. Grin

Powerpoint, stripping wallpaper, changing a light fitting, cutting my own fringe, using white vinegar kettle/dishwasher/washing machine/nit repellant/de-weeding patio. Going back some years...cooking, ironing, cleaning, general house maintenance (boarding school).

@YeahILoveSummer youtube what it is you want to do, loads of tutorials will pop up. I can sew but still refer to it occasionally if I want to do something I haven't for a long time (shortening long shirt sleeves most recently) or something entirely new I'm not confident enough to just wing it :)

Sewing, how to measure, cut and fit a shelf from a piece of wood. Painting a wall properly. Plumbing in a dishwasher and washing machine.
