It’s been a long hot summer, and on top of that we’ve just got back from holiday.

And ooooh, it’s so nice to feel cool, cold even. Not to fussed about the rain, that can do one. But tonight it’s recollect and I’ve had to go and get a hoodie on. I might even grab one of our fleecy blankets to get all cozy.

Soooo nice.

Northern Canada here. It was -6 overnight. We’ve already had a little snow. It’s not unusual for there to be a foot of snow on the ground by Halloween. Costumes are usually purchased with enough room for a snowsuit underneath.

Summers here are hot - regularly 25 plus from May to August. Spring and Autumn don’t really exist.

This is just a reminder that the really cold stuff is coming. It’ll be -20 or so by November with the really cold days (-40 with the wind chill) arriving in January.

Humidity is very low here though. Lots of layers is key. Good gloves are a must. You warm up as soon as you go inside.

Don’t miss the cold and damp, chill you to the bone, UK winter!

And to the PP who suggested Alaska - it gets very hot there in Summer too. And the midges, mosquitos etc are like nothing else.

I’d recommend Antarctica.

Northern midwest US here, and this is my favourite time of year. We had temps in the mid 30s here just a few days ago but today was straight up cold, damp and raw, and it's so nice to be able to pile on the layers.

I love the dry cold of winter.
