Anyone else loving actually feeling a bit cold?

It’s been a long hot summer, and on top of that we’ve just got back from holiday.

And ooooh, it’s so nice to feel cool, cold even. Not to fussed about the rain, that can do one. But tonight it’s recollect and I’ve had to go and get a hoodie on. I might even grab one of our fleecy blankets to get all cozy.

Soooo nice.

Oh and I didn't go around saying I 'hated the hot summer'. I loved it Sad

Mulberry72 · 22/09/2018 09:01

No, never.

I have Psoriatic Arthritis and Fibromyalgia and the cold and damp makes my symptoms much worse so I’m always really poorly in Autumn/Winter.

Meet0nTheIedge · 22/09/2018 09:26

I like that I can regulate by temperature just by popping on some socks or a cardi rather than being too hot despite only wearing skimpy clothes. I like that my car is now pleasant to drive in rather than ferling like an oven. I like not having to worry about sunburn. I like being able to garden without sweating buckets. All in all the current weather is infinitely preferable to the heatwave, the only thing I am missing is the long hours of daylight.

Cleanermaidcook · 22/09/2018 09:34

No its shit, I'm cold , grumpy and Snotty.
It keeps raining on me.
The children at work (preschool) either don't play out and are like caged animals or want to play in the rain then I'm wet and miserable!

Bah humbug!

Therewere5inthebed · 22/09/2018 10:22

Me!
I’m peri-menopausal and so sick of sweating constantly.
Autumn is my favourite season though.

megletthesecond · 22/09/2018 10:28

No. I loved the heatwave Sad.

LoniceraJaponica · 22/09/2018 10:38

"I like that I can regulate by temperature just by popping on some socks or a cardi "

Those of us who really feel the cold find that just popping on a cardi or a pair of socks doesn't make much difference. We need the ambient temperature to be warmer to feel warm.

Meet0nTheIedge · 22/09/2018 11:09

I know, but for me, who really doesn't feel the cold much, this works, which is why I like this weather but hate heat.

EnidButton · 22/09/2018 11:11

Red Sounds quite exciting but then I probably wouldn't say that after a few Winters with frozen eyelashes. It being really dry is interesting. It's almost permanently raining in Winter in my bit of the UK, no rain puts me on edge a bit.

RedneckStumpy · 22/09/2018 11:31

When it’s that cold there is no liquid only ice. The humidity in the house drops to 15% doors start not closing properly because the wood has shrunk!

It does get old clearing 1ft of fresh snow out the drive before going to work once a week!

EnidButton · 22/09/2018 11:37

Oh of course Red that makes sense. Blush I can imagine it's very hard work to live in day to day.

Maelstrop · 22/09/2018 12:52

Yup, summer was torture. I’m thrilled to be snuggling under a duvet and wearing a hoodie. Had a fab couple of walks with the dogs in the rain this morning. I seem to have more hoodies than anything.

Notmorewashing · 22/09/2018 12:54

No way it’s awful and depressing. You are enjoying paying the heating bills too I take it.Hmm

afrikat · 22/09/2018 12:55

I love it!! I feel like I've spent the whole summer in a sweaty mess. I love wrapping up, snuggling under a blanket and getting my favourite boots out again. I can't wait for the proper chill when I can break out the ear muffs 😁

mostdays · 22/09/2018 13:26

I loved this summer!
I have made a mental note of every colleague who spent the summer whinging about the heat, if any of them complain about the winter weather I will laugh at them and remind them this is what they claimed to want...

Meet0nTheIedge · 22/09/2018 14:09

No heating bills here yet, not had the heating or any sort of fire on and no need for fans now either, this is better all round.

JynxaSmoochum · 22/09/2018 14:12

The room is 18oC. My toes are cold despite thick socks, a heavy t-shirt and thick jumper. I haven't even taken my coat off since entering the house. Sticking gloves on seems slightly ridiculous. I feel guilty if I stick the central heating on as it's not even that cold.

I spent most of last winter in long johns.

Having several weeks of summer was bliss.

theboxofdelights · 22/09/2018 14:13

I don’t get the angst - we are all different- for me autumn means the end of seasonal allergies, asthma, sweating like a menopausal pig, start of cold weather food, seeing my animals happier without the heat, being able to do jobs outside etc., etc. Autumnal colours in the woods.

Suits me just fine.

amusedbush · 22/09/2018 14:15

I bloody hate summer, and this one has been especially horrible.

October is my favourite month.

MiddlingMum · 22/09/2018 14:18

I love this weather, even the rain. It's so refreshing and cool, and I love watching it fall on the garden. I've got my favourite jumper on today
which I've missed wearing all summer.

areyoubeingserviced · 22/09/2018 14:23

I love Autumn simply because my makeup stays in place

Chickencellar · 22/09/2018 14:25

Shit weather , miss the summer already , a real drop in temperature the last couple of days.Angry

Meet0nTheIedge · 22/09/2018 14:29

Whereas our room is also 18C at the moment, I'm in jeans, thin jumper and barefeet and feel just right. Been out for a couple of hours this morning (11C) dressed like this plus sandals, also fine. I haven't put on a coat since spring. So, it really does vary a lot from person to person but it doesn't make anyone wrong, or bonkers, just different.

Fluffyears · 22/09/2018 14:35

I moan about the cold and being Scottish it’s unfortunately a big part of being in this country. I do love a nice dry frosty day though when my breath dogs and it smells clean. I hate bastarding rain though.

I have noticed I can’t cope with heat, on holiday a few years ago it was blisteringly hot and I was dreaming of the moment I got off the plane in Glasgow to cool air and drizzle.

puppymouse · 22/09/2018 14:48

Not me I'm afraid. I loved the summer (excluding the effect it had on crops etc) and was in my element. I'm currently nursing a burgeoning cold with the heating on under my duvet Sad
