One old school friend has just called another old school friend something really nasty, said she’s got teeth like the clown in Stephen kings it
And has she been in an accident

She said what’s happened to you have you been in an accident

When the person said what?
She said he comment about her teeth

I know it’s not my beef but what a nasty thing to say
It got delayed about five hours later the whole post went poof !!

Deleted not delayed

I deleted someone TODAY for saying he’d be a bit mortified if his son was gay.

I’d call her out on such a rude comment, if you don’t want to go straight in for a delete.
That said, I didn’t comment on my ‘friends’ comment because there’s no arguing with some stupid

gamerchick · 09/09/2018 22:26

I've deleted for less. I'm surprised it stayed up 5 hours.

I take it you defended her publicly? I wouldn't have allowed that to pass unchallenged.

GoofyIsACow · 09/09/2018 22:29

They started selling juice plus...

Sunflowerr · 09/09/2018 22:29

I delete people who express offensive views, meaning I have no interest in seeing what they post. And also people who are just irritating.

PanamaPattie · 09/09/2018 22:31

I've deleted my Facebook account. So over it.

nuttyknitter · 09/09/2018 22:32

I deleted a former colleague, who I considered a friend, after they posted awful Islamophobic comments during the Brexit referendum. I texted her to tell her exactly why I'd done it and we haven't spoken since.

CakeNinja · 09/09/2018 22:32

I’ve only ever blocked a couple of people, for sharing Britain First and EDL posts.
People who spam my feed with selling their own crap get unfriended too.

JungWan · 09/09/2018 22:35

I deleted some pro-lifers in the run up to the repeal the 8th referendum in Ireland back in May. Couldn't bear the bullshit I was reading. I know I could have hidden them but i felt like I hated them for seeking to control (through legislation) what other people were allowed to do so in that moment it felt reasonable.

elQuintoConyo · 09/09/2018 22:35

Sil because she's a cunt.

Cousin A because she's transphobic.

Cousin B because she posted pro-life shite.

And a bunch of people over the years who i have nothing in common with anymore (we all move around a lot).

elQuintoConyo · 09/09/2018 22:36

Oh - and one 'friend' for being a total user.

MrsDeanWinchester75 · 09/09/2018 22:37

I regularly thin out my friends list but I'm strict about who I add, I only have people I see regularly and family, not random people who happened to be in my class when I was 6.

It's become a minefield since having kids because parents groom playgroup, nursery and school sent requests so it'd be awkward saying no or deleting them so I've muted notifications from the diet reps, braggers and attention seekers.

LardLizard · 09/09/2018 22:46

I typed up a reply but didn’t press send as thought, so I really want to become part of this, so I really want to stoop so low
The whole thing went poof the person themselves that was asked about her teeth didn’t reply, her two front teeth are kinda yellowy grey so they perhaps have had a Big Bang to them as I know that can happen as happened to dd with one of her baby teeth, but oddly with baby teeth they can return back to white, which luckily happened as baby teeth can kind of bruise

OP posts:
sizeofalentil · 09/09/2018 22:48

I got deleted by a pro-lifer for sharing (a very moving story) of an Irish dad talking about his daughter's attempts to get an abortion (for a baby that would have been born dead, IIRC, or would have damaged her health by carrying it) during the repel the 8th debate.

KlutzyDraconequus · 09/09/2018 22:52

Any sign of "Vaguebooking" - Delete
Any sign of MLM - Delete
Any bigotry - Delete
Any sign of Conservative leanings - delete
Any mention of a respect or interest in - Jamie Oliver / Chris Evans / Top Gear / Fishing / Ed sheeran / xfactor - delete.

I have literally 0 friends. Grin

BleakBetty · 09/09/2018 22:52

Two reasons:

  1. Far right, offensive views - racist remarks, pro-life vitriol etc. as others have mentioned
  2. Aggressive network marketers

But in fairness I rarely have cause to delete anyone. The second type are far more common on my feed, and often I keep them for the amusement factor Grin

AutisticHedgehog · 09/09/2018 22:54

She was a rape apologist.

UterusUterusGhali · 09/09/2018 22:56

Mostly islamaphobic shit. I've sadly had to delete loads of people for that.
Pro-life posts
Anti animal cruelty; person was showing more and more graphic pictures of animals being killed.
MLM

I hate it but a lot of my family arrange stuff on it and it's a good way to keep up to date with village stuff.

deste · 09/09/2018 22:59

I deleted someone because she was bragging about her DD constantly and another who just discovered Facebook so was posting everything she liked and it was miles and miles of rubbish.

FourFriedChickensDryWhiteToast · 09/09/2018 23:00

three people all for racist stuff.
One was sharing stuff about Black people in America and ' we fought a war for you' bollokcs.
One was sharing an Irish joke that rested on the premise that Irish people were simple.
One was sharing stuff (again) about how Serena Williams is really a man, I asked her if she was a racist, and she blocked me...

Momsnatter · 09/09/2018 23:00

uterus what’s happens if you have a Muslim pro life friend (as most Muslims would be) do you implode?

TroysMammy · 09/09/2018 23:01

A relative's partner for Islamophobia and because they are a twat. I've also unfollowed said relative because of posts moaning how tired they are and kids being ill, teething, going to the Doctors. Boring, boring, excessively boring.

FourFriedChickensDryWhiteToast · 09/09/2018 23:01

deste you don't need to block people that are doing that, you can just adjust your settings so that you don't see all of their posts. I have had to do that with a few people...

PrincessScarlett · 09/09/2018 23:06

One person for being racist, one person for constantly posting about her drunken antics and one person for going all weird and stalkerish.

Every couple of years I review my friend list and delete anyone who I haven't seen for years and have no desire to continue the Facebook friendship.

MervynBunter · 09/09/2018 23:06

Deleted SIL. She's DW's much loved kid sister but if I hadn't I'd have told her exactly what I thought of her never ending requests to sign petitions.
