.. the crazy dog lady who has a menagerie of dogs, probably 3 mini dachshunds and a couple of scraggly rescues.

I'll live in a rural village surrounded by woodland, hopefully still with my DH, and I hope I didn't turn out like my own mother and my DC still talk to me and visit for Sunday lunch on occasion.

Anyone else think about this stuff? 😬

Cats and dogs for companions...if I'm still fit enough cycling round with doggy trailer...(don't have one yet)
DC will just tut and send odd foodparcels, to make sure I'm eating properly..
Grin

Phosphorus · 30/08/2018 11:40

Homeless probably.

Still privately renting at 43.

Malibucyprus · 30/08/2018 11:44

Crazy cat lady, can't wait Grin

WhoopiGoldbergsCat · 30/08/2018 11:47

I'll be living in a small French seaside town, riding my bike to collect my baguette in the morning, long walks on the beach and lots and lots of cats to look after.

RickOShay · 30/08/2018 11:50

I am going to have National Trust membership and an intimate knowledge of the cream tea menu.
I will have a carpet in the bathroom.
Lots of pets, all rescues. I will have Sky telly. I will be in a little cottage with excellent insulation and heating and an open fire and i will be allowed to eat in the sitting room.
I will be a rose fancier.
I will be really experimental with cooking and spend all day creating.
Hopefully see my children and ideally i would like my sister to live next door.

SweatyFretty · 30/08/2018 11:55

I want to rescue donkeys.

TheHulksPurplePanties · 30/08/2018 11:56

Sitting on the porch and yelling at the children walking by to be quiet. I expect to be a staple in AIBU.

tectonicplates · 30/08/2018 12:10

I'm going to have an Aga Grin

hamburgers · 30/08/2018 12:15

It's funny that a lot of us want to be surrounded by pets Grin

Don't wait until your older.

do it now

Really, don't put you're life on hold. Get that first cat and send out vibes to the universe to send you more! Redecorate the bathroom snugly with carpet, and sod current fashion and what others think. Wear purple. Write poetry. Run off with unsuitable toyboy.

You might get run over next year. Have as short a list of 'I wish I had got round to' as possible

SoundofSilence · 30/08/2018 12:42

I will live in the house I live in now, but it will be clean and cosy, and I will be able to enjoy it rather than manage the day's chaos.

I am going to travel and revisit the places of interest I've been to with my children, but take my time, look at everything and read the information with the exhibits.

I want to do some volunteering for local environmental projects and maybe attend classes for things which are interesting rather than for Continuing Professional Development, like bike maintenance or woodwork.

I'd like to be able to play the guitar, not enough for anybody else to hear, just enough to entertain myself. Oh, and do some proper walking, the kind that requires boots and takes more than an hour. I quite fancy letterboxing in Dartmoor.

Since I will probably have to work up to the age of 69, I am worried that when I eventually have the gift of time, I might not be able bodied enough to do all the things I have promised myself for getting that far.

Nuffaluff · 30/08/2018 12:48

I’m going to read at least three books a week.
I’m going to be a serial adult education course attendee in anything vaguely creative.

happinessischocolate · 30/08/2018 12:54

I'm going to live with my DD, she wants to buy a small holding with the mega bucks that her and her boyfriend are going to be earning and I'm going to lie in bed all day and maybe feed the animals 😂

Strokethefurrywall · 30/08/2018 13:16

I'm still going to be riding rollercoasters and doing sky dives with my grandkids. As much that can give me an adrenaline rush as possible.
I'm going to be bendy yoga nana who runs a "yoga for the over 80's" and rocking my meditation class.
And I will have a big shaggy Newfoundland.

darlingchops · 30/08/2018 14:12

I'm going to have a mad overgrown cottage garden that i will spend all summer pottering around in with the dogs and in the winter i will sit in front of the open fire and read, drink tea and eat cake.

to be honest, that's my life now i just won't have to work inbetween. Grin

MrsMozart · 30/08/2018 14:18

I'm going to be a growed up. One day. I'm sure of it.

lucydogz · 30/08/2018 14:45

I'm there, at over 60. And it's great.
Moved out of the countryside into the city and realised I'm not a country person and love the city.
Our lovely and beloved Jack Russell died recently and I'm really enjoying being petless.
I am, as an old woman, officially invisible and, most important of all, I am free of giving a damn what other people think off me.

DarlingNikita · 30/08/2018 14:52

I want a pied a terre in Soho or Bloomsbury, with a cafe next door on one side, a newsagent the other, and an upmarket food shop and nice bar within a minute's walk.

I'll be friendly enough with the cafe and newsagent that they'll raise the alarm if I don't come in one day and I'll be found before I rot on my kitchen floor.

I'll potter about the British Museum and the galleries in Soho, drink espressos and read the paper. I'll go to the City Lit to do the odd course in musicology, history, fashion and whatever else takes my fancy.

I aspire to that as a lifestyle now, TBH, even though I'm only 43.

HildaZelda · 30/08/2018 14:53

When I grow up, I want to be Rosemary Smith. Amazing lady. Still going strong at 80.

VelociraptorRex · 30/08/2018 14:57

What @AuntieStella said - do it all now!
I'll probably be the old lady my kids roll their eyes about and dread to think what I'm up to now, I don't want to fade away! I also want to be surrounded by dogs, family, grandkids piling in and out of my farmhouse all day, our house is next to an old people's home which keeps things in perspective for me!

MisstoMrs · 30/08/2018 15:02

I want to be by the sea...walking my crazy but loyal cocker spaniel every day on the sand, tending my garden, cooking and reading. Drinking wine and laughing with DH in the evening, wrapped in blankets even though it’s too cold to be outside really.

One day...

Mushroomsarehorrible · 30/08/2018 15:06

Dogs, dogs and more dogs, all rescue of course, all a bit mangey and knackered, like their owner no doubt

And not worrying about my figure or getting old !

Eating whatever I like. As many cream cakes as I want.

Utter heaven

rosamore · 30/08/2018 15:06

Dh and I want to retire to a central studio flat in a big city (used to be London but we have lost the love for it a little bit). We'll spend our days in museums, going to the theatre and taking walks in the parks. We'll eat brunch or a late lunch in a restaurant and come home to read, study and write before bed. We're both huge advocates for lifelong learning so I hope our brains hold up! Ideally we'd also have a little house in the countryside or by the sea that we could get the train to easily. Or children in the countryside with a nice spare room! We also want dogs until we get too frail. We talk about this ALL THE TIME.

hamburgers · 30/08/2018 15:19

@Mushroomsarehorrible yes to eating whatever you like! I'm going to have donuts for breakfast everyday. I won't get fat though walking my menagerie of dogs every day Grin
