Does this picture scare you?

I came across it on Twitter.

I feel irrationally petrified if I look too closely Blush

I have a huge shark phobia. Not sure why as I'm aware none are even close to this size and most aren't the slightest bit interested in me as food.

But this morning I was in the shower and wondered if the shark could burst through the taps

As a child I would go swimming doing lengthens and always go incredibly fast, completely fuelled by the belief a shark could possible chase me.

This scares me far more. The sneaky bastards have made us believe they walk on four legs

At least those teeth are pointing in the wrong direction when it's upright.

I think it’s the size of the shark compared to the size of the boat - Even if it was a submarine pictured underneath of a similar size it would still terrify me. It’s the sizing that scares me - There’s something so scary about the sheer size of the ocean and the not knowing what lurks beneath, and how you are just a tiny tiny thing compared to it Confused

I get a bit creeped out by vast stretches of open water, particularly when you can’t see below the surface but I’m also irrationally scared of swimming in the sea and being eaten by sharks.
In spite of that, I have a huge fascination of sharks and have watched a fair amount of documentaries about them.
I find the scale of that picture scary Grin

OP if you are scared of sharks coming out of taps do not watch the film Ghost Shark...

I love a bloody good shark film.Grin

My dad was in the navy and used to tell me tales of things he saw in the deep sea . He used to speak of giants creatures. Once he said he saw a giant squid as big as several buses. It scared the bejesus out of me and I've been afraid of the sea since . Also jaws didn't help , I'm determined not to pass any fears onto my children so we swam in the sea on our holiday last week and it was fine . I have just told them to respect the sea because frankly I think some people are very silly going out really far on inflatables 😬😬.. that's another story though

A bit of lightheartedness: my brother is a marine biologist. I asked him once if he liked swimming in oceans and he looked at me, horrified, and responded "Do you know what fish do in oceans?"

tbf to sharks. when I first watched river monsters I had no idea fish like that even existed!
