Set the whole place alight

Lynne1Cat · 21/08/2018 22:15

My husband used to work away from home on the odd occasion, (a few of them from the same firm did) and he got bitten by bed bugs in a Premier Inn!

Excuse my ignorance, but what does "boke" mean?

DrAdmin · 21/08/2018 22:15

Vomit, throw up!

OP posts:
VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 21/08/2018 22:16

Clairetree1 · 21/08/2018 22:16

Oh man alive, you poor things. I'd be coming home.

buddhasbelly · 21/08/2018 22:20

Have you been brave enough to lift the fitted sheet OP? Flowers

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 21/08/2018 22:21

Don't sleep there OP. Just don't. Talk to owners, get money back, review on Tripadvisor. Like PP said it's a v expensive problem + hassle to fix once they're in your house and the nyphs (young) travel with you easily.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 21/08/2018 22:22

No no no don't lift the sheet, don't turn the mattress, the hotel has bed bugs, period. Run like the wind.

DrAdmin · 21/08/2018 22:22

Absolutely not buddhasbelly- it’s 11:20 pm and I’m on the side of an the alps, 20 minute walk from a tiny town and no hire car, with a 13 year old - I haven’t even told my husband yet!!

I’m just lying here itching

complain now

move out asap

cover yourself in insect repellent

insist on refund.

don't use any bedding or matresses. get it all thrown out and replaced with cheap new stuff, only cheap stuff, because it will also need throwing away.

do not take any of your luggage into your house at home.

Throw away everything you can live without

boil wash and iron everything else

throw the suitcases away

they can travel in books, throw away your books. Throw them away before you get home, don't throw them away at home

we had them from a foster child. We had to throw away all the furniture and carpet in some rooms, and I've heard of cases where households have had to strip off the wallpaper to get shot of them

evil little sods.

DrAdmin · 21/08/2018 22:23

A mountain in the alps that should say

OP posts:
Clairetree1 · 21/08/2018 22:25

One thing though, they are not subtle like fleas, they don't creep around your body without you feeling them You can feel them on you. if you can't feel anything, they are not on you

Rachie1986 · 21/08/2018 22:26

Can you do anything tomorrow to try and get it sorted (you moved, refund etc)

Clairetree1 · 21/08/2018 22:26

Its awful Sad

insect repellent all over you and fly spray everywhere.

it won't do them the slightest harm, but could take the edge of their appetite.

buddhasbelly · 21/08/2018 22:26

Take Vanellope's advice DrAdmin ignore me!

Eurgh I'm gutted for you.

buddhasbelly · 21/08/2018 22:27

Is their reception still on duty?

MyDcAreMarvel · 21/08/2018 22:30

Yes, sorry op I had them once at home unsure how. I had to get professionals in so like op says don’t take suitcase etc home. Any clothes you do must be washed and dried in hot drier.

DrAdmin · 21/08/2018 22:31

No, no reception and yes they’re not subtle I felt that tickle me - bleugh!

OP posts:
VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 21/08/2018 22:31

Have you told management OP? Sorry but you have to tell your family.
Demand a different room and do it NOW.
I'd rather sleep on a bus or outside in a field and I'm not exaggerating.
You will, I repeat, you will be bitten to shit in the night (bums, backs, thighs) and it will look and feel awful for months.
That's nothing compared to a pontential (and very likely) infestetion in your home.

welshmist · 21/08/2018 22:31

I had to do this once for son whose rotations on a ship had finished so they shipped his stuff home. It took six months and had been sat in a warehouse in the back end of Africa. I unpacked all the boxes on the patio hot washed the garments and burned the boxes. I was thinking of cockroaches and god knows what else would have crawled into them.
