WTF Album Covers

(un)Inspired by utterly dreadful 'Top Of The Pops' album covers of the 1970s, it struck me that there must be hundreds, if not thousands of weird album covers out there... I don't mean strange esoteric covers with abstract art, but I mean outrageously provocative (for the time), batshit odd, or creepy as heck covers...

I don't know if it's my imagination, but the whole image only fills me with horrible thoughts. If it's designed to make someone uncomfortable, it works.

I have a couple of iffy album covers not suitable for here. But they are by quite famous bands.

I don't think I'm brave enough to google. Although Torn's puns are (as usual) hysterical, and lots of you are very funny as well, some of them on here are a bit near the knuckle for me. I don't think I want or need to see the ones that you're considering too bad to post

Most aren't that bad (not the ones I have) but they're sexist or incredibly suggestive. It was the norm in the 70's - Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers for instance

ah, I've just found the other.
Actually, there are different reasons to dislike both. If I had to chose the better, it's the more graphic one - because it omits something else in the background.
I find the seemingly 'milder' one far worse... because of the background.

Some covers are for shock value. Some might be artistic, but not so many (imo).

There are quite a few foreign ones where the wtf is in the photo, or the artist being named “Dick” or similar that’s funny to us, but wouldn’t be to speakers of that language.

Sadly, the iconic Dick Handler Quartet cover was photoshopped a bit. They were really called The Wells Family, and the boy's face isn't quite as weird as it looked. Still very odd though!
