Time for a new specialism, methinks!

Of course Chief Saddo need to get a life me is here, Spiro. Thanks for the trip report, glad you had fun. Sparkhouse will wait, I am sure. John S is the patient type Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 26/02/2011 23:36

Not sure I am though! Have just PM'd you.

How's things on the island with you today?

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 26/02/2011 23:43

Boring, but stable, I suppose you could say! Miserable weather so we all stayed in. Lots more football to avoid on the telly, but I survived!

DumSpiroSpero · 26/02/2011 23:52

How galling for you that you get all the foot and not enough up to date 'proper' telly.

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 26/02/2011 23:57

We get footie from every darn country in the world Sad Angry As if the home grown island game was not enough...

Anyway, must head off, I am starting to go cross-eyed again. Goodnight and welcome back!

PS I hope Twiggy survived her Spooks viewing!

DumSpiroSpero · 26/02/2011 23:59

I have succumbed to the lure of Mr Standring!

Sweet dreams Massive!

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 27/02/2011 00:52

So this is what the 'drive-by mocking' was about?

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 27/02/2011 02:45

Oh, dear...should've known.better than to start watching Sparkhouse that late!

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 27/02/2011 07:03

Spiro, I've just started to read that "scariest group" thread and it's horrible!! I knew I shouldn't read it or it would upset/annoy me :(

Mind you, am LOLing at the idea of us all "taking our subject seriously" - I think somebody may have misunderstood just a tad :o

PassTheTwiglets · 27/02/2011 07:20

Read the rest now and I see that some people did stick up for us.

PassTheTwiglets · 27/02/2011 08:15

Have you guys seen this thread? It's really funny - it's about things you know are true but which you don't believe.

DumSpiroSpero · 27/02/2011 09:29

I liked Fluffy's comment "Richard Armitage. Have been lurking and occasionally posting, haven't seen anything serious or scary on there. They are highly amusing though and for a RA appreciator the constant pictures are rather nice."

I love that someone thinks we're highly amusing - FWIW, so do I Grin!

Watched Sparkhouse in one hit last night - daft, but it is so good.

Twigs - you must be sooo excited now - are the dc's still in the dark?

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 27/02/2011 10:22

Interesting titbit from Twiggy's thread above!

On the wiggy/beardy thing (sorry to come in so late, only just seen this thread) - it's sometimes true. I know some actors who are asked to grow beards and hair before a role so they can do the long-haired/beardy bits first, then shave it off. Shaving a beard off is easier than growing one.

Many actors grow beards between roles, so that if they are offered a last-minute role for which they must be hirsute, they can take it immediately.

Totally agree with you re: Johnny Drop BTW.

I was expecting to see a post from you:

Silly things you KNOW the truth of, but still disbelieve

That Lucas North is...a) really that nasty John Batman, and b) dead Sad!

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 27/02/2011 10:36

Had to laugh that the nickname of the poster who originally posted re actors & their beards was 'squirrel' Grin

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 27/02/2011 11:38

LOL at your 'truth about Lucas' comment! I didn't spot the squi rrel thing

Yep, DCs still have no clue about tomorrow! The only tricky part is going to be explaining why the rabbit is being taken to the boarders tonight. How do we have so much STUFF to take though?! 2 huge cases, a buggy, a very full rucksack - nightmare getting all that on the train!

How are our poorlies feeling today? Everyone back to normal yet?

Oh, re. the "close your eyes" episode last night. DrTwiglets was finding the disc and he said "are we on 9.3?" and apparently I said 'yes' a little too emphatically :) When it got to That Bit, he laughed and said "oh, so that's why..." :o He didn't get it though - said it was corny and silly. MEN!

SupermassiveLBD · 27/02/2011 13:37

Hell, ladies, just reporting in really as busy day today. Just done a quick read through and will comment later. I didn't read the whole Clique thread last night so didn't realise we got a mention. I must check it out properly, as well as the ''things you know'' one.

The big day tomorrow for Twigs then. Bon Voyage if I don't see you again later.

Spiro have you been inspired yet for Sparkhouse the sequel?
(etymology bit for Twigs here : spiro = I breathe
in spir ation,)
Anyway as I said, this is just a post and run, I will be back later
Mwaah! Grin

SupermassiveLBD · 27/02/2011 13:39

Not hell, of course, but hello Blush Gizzy is putting the fluence on me again!

PassTheTwiglets · 27/02/2011 13:55

Oooh, I like that, Massive! Until you said that, I had also not made the connection that spero = hope and French for 'to hope' is espere - I love how so many languages are connected. Our word 'aspire' must come from that too. Fascinating!

Gizzy, shush now, Massive is busy. You'll have to come back later.

PassTheTwiglets · 27/02/2011 13:56

I am taking my phone, btw, but no idea how practical (of affordable) it will be to keep up with the thread. Try not to be too interesting whilst I'm away so I don't miss much :)

DumSpiroSpero · 27/02/2011 15:59

Have you got a contract with internet included? I would imagine the Disney hotels have free WiFi for guests - you will just need to ask for their login & password when you book in I should think.

Massive, I have been very inspired re Sparkhouse, but the nature of the end of the programme means it would have to be a fairly epic bit of fanfic to do it justice. I'm up for that, but will probably try & write the thing in one go and then break it up for posting, rather than do it as I go along.

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 27/02/2011 16:31

There is no WiFi in the hotels - only in McDonalds! I'm on Pay As You Go and get 100MB of internet for a tenner a month which usually does me - but that doesn't counr abroad, apparently. It's £5 for 4MB abroad which - techy people tell me - is hardly anything at all :(

DumSpiroSpero · 27/02/2011 16:58

Am Shock that there's no WiFi in the hotels, although to be fair I guess the whole point of Disneyland is family time, not Mumsnet & ogling hunk actors time Grin!

So, shall I save Sparkhouse: The Sequel for next weekend? Wink

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 27/02/2011 17:02

BTW - what time of year do you reckon the last episode of Sparkhouse was set? I reckon September?

Just need a starting point really.

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 27/02/2011 17:20

The 2 top-priced hotels have paying WiFi in the lobby only but none of the other hotels do, and there is none in the parks at all. Apparently it's part of the Disney ethos, as it's supposed to be away from the real world...

:o @ ogling hunk actors time

Yes, I would go with September.

PassTheTwiglets · 27/02/2011 17:21

And don't save anything on my account, btw!
