Time for a new specialism, methinks!

The others had their fair share of eccentricity but they were very much of their time, I suspect, and I don't know what it would be like to rewatch them now.

I am listening to Cathy Burke on DiD now. She is even more impressive than I thought. She is a National Treasure.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 20/02/2011 22:04

Hiya, Small. How so busy? Fabulous half term fun?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 20/02/2011 22:13

Here's a little gift for Spiro.

TheSmallPrint · 20/02/2011 22:13

No not fun, birthday parties (yes, plural!).

I love Cathy Burke too.

TheSmallPrint · 20/02/2011 22:15

I can't open that and it sounds very educational.

SupermassiveLBD · 20/02/2011 22:16

It was the gambling one with 'fetch'.

Gizzy is a proper bossy boots at times, isn't he? Funnily enough, to judge from a exhaustive study quick and superficial perusal of fan fiction, an awful lot of ladies are rather taken with the begging and fetching. He seems to be made to say it with alarming frequency. Shock

SupermassiveLBD · 20/02/2011 22:21

That Lucas vid was nice, Maud, and not too miserable at all. Well researched.

DumSpiroSpero · 20/02/2011 22:22

Looking forward to unwrapping that pressie tomorrow afternoon, thanks Maud! Won't play on mobile.

Small - have put nails back & another pic of DD on!

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 20/02/2011 22:24

The link seems OK, Small. Are you on 'phone or 'puter?

Naturally, every link I post is impeccably educational. That one was a co-production from the Faculties of Fine Art (Department of Aesthetics), War and Espionage Studies and Sports Studies (Aquarobics Department).

I'll look for another treat for you.

TheSmallPrint · 20/02/2011 22:30

I'm on the phone. Computer is daytime in the week, can't be bothered to use it in the evening.

Maud, Russell Kane is on ITV at the mo.

TheSmallPrint · 20/02/2011 22:32

Love the nails Spiro! Grin. DD looks very sweet and glam with her hair doobry .

TheSmallPrint · 20/02/2011 22:36

Hugh Jackman in a cravat on 2!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 20/02/2011 22:38

::Lady Bracknell voice::

On ITV? Where the ::gasps:: adverts are?

::Fans self::

Can't turn on the telly as, after a week or more of behaving itself, it has gone all pink sparkly again. And not in a good way.

I've been in the Academy basement again and have found this little gem. . And another swimming pool scene.

::hands round smelling salts::

PassTheTwiglets · 20/02/2011 22:43

Evening, ladies (or is it morning, I have no idea). Well darling little niece (4 months old, btw) can sure scream. She yelled her little lungs out from 7pm to about 11pm when she finally fell asleep - but she is so quiet when she's asleep that every 20 minutes or so throughout the night I was awake and trying to make sure she was still breathing. I didn't think I'd be that paranoid after having 2 of my own but hey ho! Then the outlaws were here this afternoon and then poor DrTwiglets has been throwing up since early evening so it's been a hectic day or so Chez Twigs.

How are our poorly academics feeling today?

It's taken me ages to catch up - we are a talkative bunch, aren't we?! The main thing that struck me whilst I was off comms was those CBeebies photos. O to the M to the G. You realise I'm going to have to look through every one of those now?! Quite, quite breathtaking. This one in particular had me turning the central heating down. Blimey. I can't believe I've never seen the bedtime stories other than the odd clip on YT! TwigBoy is getting into the bedtime stories so I should really sit down with him and watch them. I really giggled at "do you think he'd let us pay with his dinosaur", btw! :o

And Spiro, your Gnomeo links were hysterical!! So funny!

Can't remember what else I was going to comment on but I'm sure there was more.

That was a funny dream, Massive! Interesting that both your and my dReAms were set in the theatre :)

Off to look through some CBeebies photos. Purely to ascertain which story TwigBoy would like best, you understand.

PassTheTwiglets · 20/02/2011 22:51

Maud, that was fabulous! They've altered his eyes to green though, at 0.15, did you notice?! They inluded some of those red cardigan shots for that Russian photoshoot that Phoenix linked us to a while ago. They were amazing photos

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 20/02/2011 22:55

Hello Twiggy

::air kisses in Parisian stylee::

Sorry to hear of the various afflictions in Twigtown. Yes, after very careful consideration I posted that particular pic because ::polishes serious drama critic glasses:: it somehow presages the iconic facial characterisations that would later be seen to devastating effect in his searing portrayal of Gisborne. Would you like to hear more of my theatrical anecdotes?

::Loud shouts of No! Shut Up!::

I have just discovered that the stories were first broadcast while GardenGirl was still watching CBeebies. It's quite likely that we watched them and I didn't bat an eyelid. Whereas I still remember Bill Paterson reading that story about the multi-coloured fish. Hey ho.

Had meant to say to Small that if you have a girl or girls, your house very soon fills up with hair doobries. And so does the vacuum cleaner.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 20/02/2011 22:56

Would the full version of that be Twigs, you have been a very naughty girl. See me in my room?

SupermassiveLBD · 20/02/2011 22:57

Hello Twiggy, nice to see you back safe.

Maud, another audio-visual tour de force from you.

Which reminds me. I have been tortured by a recollection from some sleb interview I read recently where, on being asked about regrets, said sleb said one of his was wearing Speedos. But I just cannot remember who it was and where I read it. Was going to bookmark it for future laughs but got distracted by something, probably shouts of GOAL!!!!!!!

SupermassiveLBD · 20/02/2011 23:02

I think I better subject Twig's dinosaur porn pic to the old zoom treatment, to see if I agree with the proto-Gizzy theory.

DumSpiroSpero · 20/02/2011 23:03

Hi Twigs - sounds like you've had a manic weekend. How's Dr Twigs now?

Those CBeebies pics are something else - as I said yesterday - they really ought to save those for after the watershed!

Small - I have matching fingernails too, and DD got me to paint hers the same! The giant hair doobry came with a top from Next - bit OTT & uber girly for me - I normally steer her in a more 'rock chick' direction (will upload pic) when I can get away with it. I am lucky that we are quite similar, so although she is hard work we have a lot of fun too.Grin

I listened to first 10 mins of Sylvester yesterday. Am about to watch last of Ultimate Force.

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 20/02/2011 23:03

That sounds familiar, Massive. I might have read the same interview, but I'm no nearer remembering who it was.

Some of the pics in that very short vid are unbearably cheese-tastic, I think, but at least they're mercifully brief. I went back to check and of course you're right, Twiggy, about the odd greenness of the eyes at one point. But then, there are very many pics where the eyes are an intense blue that (in my experience anyway) can only be achieved through coloured contact lenses or photoshop.

SupermassiveLBD · 20/02/2011 23:06

GULP!!!
Pass the smelling salts this way, will you? I've gorn all unnecessary.

DumSpiroSpero · 20/02/2011 23:06

Had meant to say to Small that if you have a girl or girls, your house very soon fills up with hair doobries. And so does the vacuum cleaner.

If only it was just up the vacuum, Maud. I swear I have a hair doobry eating monster living under my floorboards the amount I end up buying.

ROFL at dinosaur porn, Massive!

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 20/02/2011 23:08

So you agree about the proto-Gizzy brooding, then?
