This thread is interesting, thank you. My dad has eupd and we have been no contact for 20 years. I wish he would have been open to the help like you have. I know there's not a lot of it, but it seems you have taken what you can get. X

Yes, that's a shame and I'm sorry that's meant you had to go no contact.

When I had my breakdown, once I'd got some meds in my system that lifted the psychosis and deep depression my determined nature was able to come through and I'd do anything suggested in the hopes of getting better. Although having the breakdown and hospitalisation was terrible it did bring me opportunities that luckily I was able to grab with both hands. Sending best wishes to you x

@UndertheCedartree
I have a teen DD who is possibly looking at this diagnosis and her future terrifies me.
She has been prescribed medication which we are very wary of starting but I am coming around to the decision.

Your post gave me hope. Thank you!
I wish you well.

Xx

Thank you, that's so kind.

I'm sorry to hear about your DD. I was very wary of medication initially but it honestly saved my life. Once I was stable on meds it then enabled me to fully engage with MH professionals. Also after therapy you are often able to reduce medication. There is hope! I recommend you to look into DBT. Something that can really help emotion regulation is getting enough sleep, eating healthily, exercising and doing something you enjoy everyday. If you want to DM me, I'd be happy to help in anyway.

Best wishes to you and your DD 🌹
