@Brightbouquet - In a word, yes. Somewhere in your childhood you developed a belief that you weren't ??? enough (funny, clever, pretty, popular or just 'good') which is the root of your low self esteem. Because of that you self soothe with something that is absolutely guaranteed to release dopamine and make you feel better; the sweet stuff. The problem with that is that you are sacrificing long term happiness for short term pleasure which leads to a downward spiral of berating yourself.

Hypnosis would find and correct that original issue, and by doing so would stop you self sabotaging - thus allowing you to see yourself as a valuable person who is just as deserving of self care as everyone else.

How much is the Tim Box course? I’m beginning a journey and intend to work on myself and this technique resonates with me especially the unconscious child. I will be moving back to the EU in a few years so I need to retrain in something which allows me to WFH. I need to earn around 15k a year to supplement my passive income. I am planning on video blogging my journey for personal use only at the moment so who knows it might come in handy when marketing myself as a hypnotist if I complete the course? Do you think doing the course is a therapy in itself?

50change · 20/02/2023 09:05

Sorry is it subconscious auto correct ✅

Eyesopenwideawake · 20/02/2023 12:58

Happy to DM you the details @50change if that's OK?

@Eyesopenwideawake

Do you find that clients come to you with one singular problem that they would like fixing with hypnosis or do clients usually have several separate problems (that may all connect ) that need fixing.

For example - for me, the stress of relocating has caused me to overeat . I know I need to fix the overeating but I also need to let go of the loss of our old house and area- or if I can't then I need to make peace with the idea that moving back in the future if we can afford to and want to,wont impact my daughters life and wont mean Ive failed . The relocating and over eating are so connected but can both be resolved in one hypnosis session!?

Do you expect people to have connected issues !?

Eyesopenwideawake · 14/04/2023 21:09

@buttteecuplad It's often the case that seemingly unconnected issues have a common root cause. So, in your case, the stress of the relocation might (only might!) stem from something such as an automatic thought that something bad will happen if you're not in control. That then leads to you wanting to do something you know will give you comfort (at least in the short term); food - short term gratification at the expense of long term happiness.

Hi @Eyesopenwideawake can hypnosis help with excessive worrying about something that is statistically very unlikely to happen?

Hi @Eyesopenwideawake can hypnosis help with excessive worrying about something that is statistically very unlikely to happen?

In a word, yes. Worrying - as opposed to problem solving - is the most useless and distressing way to think about an issue. Once your subconscious mind knows this it will stop doing it.

Thanks, do you find it is effective? Did I see you take on Zoom clients? Could you PM me some info if so please

Hi OP

Could hypnosis help with arachnophobia? I haven't RTFT so don't know if somebody else has asked, if they have sorry!

Thank you 😊

Eyesopenwideawake · 10/05/2023 08:16

@elm26 - absolutely. I've had a client going from terrified of spiders to picking one up within 60 minutes 😊

Hi OP
Can hypnosis work for pain management of joints or muscles? And if so, how does it work. Thanks

Eyesopenwideawake · 10/05/2023 08:39

@lemonyellows Yes (with the obvious caveats that there is no medical reason for ongoing pain).

Pain is effectively a signal from the body to the mind letting us know we have incurred some kind of damage that either needs to be tended to or protected to allow it to heal (often both). In those instances when the pain we feel is no longer delivering any useful information and is now just ongoing chronic pain where no action is required, we can compare this to a fire alarm.

If the fire alarm in a building starts to sound we will probably want to check to see if there actually is a fire, if there is then we take the necessary action to put the fire out. But if there isn’t then the next step is to turn the fire alarm off. The same principle applies to pain that is being triggered for no useful reason but instead is caused by fear and/or anxiety associated with the pain.

I have just finished a 3 session hypnosis with @Eyesopenwideawake and honestly this lady is like a magician! I don't know how she does it but it has honesty changed the way I think now for the better! Whole heartedly recommend giving it a try if you are considering it! :)

Eyesopenwideawake · 11/05/2023 11:39

Aw shucks - thank you!

Hi - I am desperate to help my 23 year old daughter. She has extreme health anxiety and POTs syndrome and has now become totally debilitated by these conditions. She is waiting for a psychotherapist referral but has been told 50 weeks for this. The health anxiety is so extreme it prevents her from taking any medication as she's terrified of a reaction and feels she is 'in control' with what she deals with right now. She barely moves from her bed ☹️ she basically has no life at all. Do you think hypnotherapy would work for this?

Eyesopenwideawake · 11/05/2023 12:44

@kefaloskid - I'm not medically qualified so obviously the POTs syndrome is well outside my sphere of knowledge but I'd be happy to have a chat with her, if she's interested.

OP posts:
kefaloskid · 11/05/2023 12:49

Would you? I feel like the key to it all is her anxiety to be honest. How do we go about this I'm not sure how to message you!
