Happy to answer any questions, especially about the surgery etc

Definitely a thread I would have found comfort in when I was going through the worst time so hopefully it can help another mother Smile

Your “a dinosaur ate it” reminded me of this book which I bought for a friend whose little boy (similar age) went through the same thing www.anewchapterbooks.com/product-page/what-happened-to-you-paperback

can highly recommend!

Thanks for starting this thread @FHmama , and very best wishes to you and your little boy.

I once worked with an amputee. My initial thought when I met him was 'He's only got one arm', but of course I didn't mention it. Within a few sentences, he explained why, and that it had been difficult to adapt to writing with his left hand, but on the whole, he was a better person than he had been before. No elephant in the room.

He's a great guy and I appreciated his openness, and ability to put people at their ease (cos they're afraid of offending). It can't have been easy for him to adapt, but he lived as normal a life as most people, and didn't feel sorry for himself

I see the same quality in you, @FHmama .
