Amazon often gets a hard time on MN, tbf it’s not the easiest place to work but needs must.
I shall try to answer your questions best I can Wink

@WaxOnFeckOff
We must attempt delivery on every parcel twice if we miss you intially and we lose % on our metrics if we return it, we cannot hold anything overnight, it must go back to depot.

Souther · 26/01/2021 19:02

Is it better for you to have items in different packages?
E.g. if I order two items they are in different packages?
So you would get paid for two packages rather than 1?
What happens if we dont give any feedback is that ok. Or definitely give regular feedback?

InsideNumberNine · 26/01/2021 19:04

I didn't even realise you could thumb down am Amazon driver! I never have and they've always been amazing. I'll make sure I never do.

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 26/01/2021 19:07

I love our Amazon delivery people. I ordered everything from Amazon at Christmas, for us, for family and friends. Over 150 parcels . Not one went missing/didn't arrive. I think I must be addicted because I always^^ want need something Grin

My question - who is the rudest customer you've ever had?

CourierLass · 26/01/2021 19:09

@Souther
We don’t get paid by parcel, I get a set rate whether it’s 150 or 250 parcels.
Positive feedback is great, the negatives are unfairly balanced against drivers and we can’t defend ourselves over them.
The metric system is near impossible to succeed well in.

I’ve had weeks I’m top 5 and others you lose 20% for one👎🏼 and never know what for.

@Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel
I recently had a delivery in a posh block of flats, the delivery note said ‘if not in buzz no.14 to get in and leave on my doormat’
great instructions, duly buzz 14, door is opened without a word, as I walk in this women screams at me ‘why the hell are you buzzing me? that’s not for me’ before I could reply she slammed her door shut Confused
Quite often get ppl who literally slam the door on you as you try to say there’s your parcel.

I get far too much from amazon. I'm always super grateful to the delivery drivers who are amazon. Amazon wouldn't exist without you. Thanks for all you do.

Fiddlersgreen · 26/01/2021 19:16

Thank you for your hard work.
I love ordering from Amazon, especially now as it’s so easy and fast.
Never had an issue with drivers, they do knock very loudly though!!
What happens if your shift finishes but you still have parcels? Say there were unexpected roadworks or an accident that held you up. Do you have to deliver them and work over or can you take them back to the depot?

Akire · 26/01/2021 19:21

Do you get fined if parcels need refunding? In our flats some drivers just leave in foyer and say it’s been left in the post room! But by the time you realise they haven't come to flat, got dressed, locked up, waited for lift some parcels have been stolen, anyone can get whether neighbour or waking past when door is open.
Amazon have always refunded but can’t see them taking that on the chin!

tinkerbellsays · 26/01/2021 19:25

Nothing to ask, just a big Thankyou for everything u do, especially since we've mostly been at home, u guys have been remarkable so Thankyou 🤗

LadyOfTheCanyon · 26/01/2021 19:29

Another person with no questions just a big, big thank you for working so hard for so little. I always give positive feedback on all counts - touch wood I’ve never had a single problem with Amazon and I’ve been using them since about 2002. We even redesigned our porch last year keeping in mind a hidden safe place for deliveries!

50shadesoflunacy · 26/01/2021 19:32

No questions but a huge thank you from me. I've only once submitted negative feedback as I was scared someone was trying to break my door down. Instead of using the very obvious doorbell, he driver thumped his fists on my door! Anyway, thank you thank you thank you Wine

CourierLass · 26/01/2021 19:35

@Fiddlersgreen
You are updated throughout the day on how fast you’re going if you fall too far behind you ‘get swept’ another driver who is finished comes and takes parcels off you and you’re charged £1 per parcel that is swept, so you have to complete your route or lose money.
@Akire
The drivers should not leave parcels like that and do deserve concessions (👎🏼)

@50shadesoflunacy
often we can’t hear a bell so you think it’s out of order so knock door as well, Id not give negative feedback for that, bear in mind we only have 2 mins per drop and need you to open door speedily.

petrocellihouse · 26/01/2021 19:37

I can’t go twenty mins in the car when it’s early morning without needing a pee stop. How do you manage?

CourierLass · 26/01/2021 19:38

@LadyOfTheCanyon
You’re the customer we love!

Do you pee into a Pepsi max bottle and drop it on our road everyday?

If not- how do you pee?

maddiemookins16mum · 26/01/2021 19:43

I love Amazon 😊. I love being able to track where you are down to how many stops away.
I have huge respect for the drivers/delivery staff.
Thank you.

Esse321 · 26/01/2021 19:43

Amazon deliveries have been fab for me during lockdown - is the flat day rate decent in comparison to other courier companies? e.g. Yodel / Hermes

That reminds me of a time I was in the bath and the Amazon delivery driver was banging on the door and continued until I wondered if it was an emergency. Cue me getting out of bath, throwing on robe, hurrying downstairs... unsurprisingly slipping on the stairs with my wet feet... falling down stairs and breaking three toes (could’ve been worse!) swearing at the top of my voice before dragging myself upright and answering door. Driver still there, took parcel, hobbled painfully back indoors to find my towel had come undone and I’d flashed my fanny to the poor bugger.

I guess he had a bad day at work on that occasion.

Anyway. No questions but a big thank you!

MouseTheDog · 26/01/2021 19:47

Thanks for your hard work! I’ve started using the amazon lockers...is that better for drivers or not?

CourierLass · 26/01/2021 19:47

@Esse321
We aren’t one of the better paid ones but it’s a guaranteed rate, you could be per parcel and get a great day with 200 or a rubbish one with 50.
It’s bloody hard work but the money is reliable, I was self employed and doing well enough then C19 happened as had no choice but to find alternative work. Needs must.

CarolEffingBaskin · 26/01/2021 19:49

Why didn't my courier go and look for my actual parcel this evening when I told them they'd handed me the wrong one? They've marked mine as delivered but it wasn't mine Confused

I realise you can't actually answer that Grin and I'm sure you wouldn't be anywhere near as irritating, OP. Thank you for bringing the random shit I don't need but buy through boredom, as well as the uni books I actually did need today that haven't arrived! Grin

CourierLass · 26/01/2021 19:49

@FenellaVelour
poor you 😳
I’ve had a fair few shirtless men, but no fannies 🤣
@MouseTheDog
The lockers are filled by us too, wish more rural customers would use them sometimes when I’ve rattled for miles down a dirt track with a tiny parcel 🤣
