Mine are mining, they hang out like a chicken gullet flappy thing. Worst thing is, they could have chopped them off when I had anaesthetic with my first DD.

They had to stitch me up anyway, so they could have take pitty on me and given me a trim.

I’m not that not that bothered enough as I could write a list of what needs done to me before that. I’ve got need tits, they hair, manky teeth, bulbous nose, varicose veins, thin shut hair, eye lines so my flaps are just another shot part of me.

If I ever have another child I’ll ask the theatre team to chop them off in a joke.... it’s a bonus if they do.

That’s what it’s supposed to say 😬

Very interesting and unusual topic, so I want to thank you for talking about this like it is the most normal thing in the world. To anyone going "yuck" ... grow up, we all have genitals.
All my questions have been asked by others in this thread. I just wanted to thank you for making this thread, so I could stumble upon it and learn things I otherwise wouldn't have, and feel better about my own bits, as they have never been the inny type you mentioned are represented as the "normal" look. Mine haven't really gotten in the way much, but aesthetically have made me feel very insecure about getting naked. Thankfully have an angel of a husband who has always made me feel great about myself and my meat flaps hahaha.
Thanks again and take care.

If I could hazard a guess, i suspect that many women ask for this while being stitched up after giving birth.

It is tempting to think of it as excess tissue that can easily be snipped off, but there’s a bit more to it than that - it would be nice to get it all out of the way at the same time though!

A very belated thank you for this kind post. I have just re-discovered my own AMA and am struck again by what a nice thread it is. Very, very happy that it has helped people. I’m replying on it publicly now, so long after the fact, in case it helps anyone else.

Thank you for posting. Well dine for doing something about it.

BiscuitLover3679 · 15/12/2021 19:38

This is fascinating but now I'm confused. Are you saying that the labia shrinks with menopause?
I really didn't learn this stuff in school...

canofsoup · 17/12/2021 04:15

I have just discovered this thread, thank you so much for starting it. My daughter has really suffered from this problem since puberty. She is 21 and saw our gp about it a couple of times pre covid. They just told her it was normal. She has had all sorts of problems, and I know it affects her sex life. She is very open with me about these things and I hate seeing her so unhappy.

She looked into getting a labiaplasty done privately, but the fees were over £5K, money we just do not have. Please can you send me the name of the surgeon you used x

Primtemps · 11/04/2022 12:21

@FlagFlaps - can you pm me the surgeon too plese? x

This could be the answer to my prayers. I'm suffering from Lichen sclerosis which is an auto immune condition that affects inner and outer labia with intense itching, soreness and inflammation. If it could all be taken away would it solve this problem. The inner labia were always so swollen (that was before they shriveled away and were reabsorbed!!) I had to do a knee bend to make sure all was safely gathered in before I could walk.
