Bebello 4-in-1 Bottle Washer review: "I love it. I wish we'd got it sooner!

Offering parents an effortless way to wash, sterilise and dry baby bottles, dummies and breast pumps quickly and using 88% less water than handwashing, the Bebello Washer seems to tick all the boxes for convenient and planet-friendly bottle cleaning. But how did it perform when used daily over an extensive three month testing period in a busy family household?

How we tested the Bebello Washer

Verified Mumsnet tester and mother-of-two Cath put the Bebello Washer through its paces over a testing period of 12 weeks, using it daily to wash and sterilise baby bottles for her baby. During this time she used it once a day to wash up to four large bottles at a time.

How easy is the Bebello Washer to assemble and use first time?

"The washer requires you to fir the water outlet tube, which is very easy to do, and find a way for it to drain. So you either have it going into a sink or a container that can hold up to 2.5 litres. We use our sink."

Instructions were very straightforward to follow and it was easy to use for the first time. There is a touchscreen pad where you choose the programs you want to use, then press the start (play icon/pause) button.

How does the Bebello Washer work?

"You fill the water tank with 2.5L of water, add 2 pumps of detergent to the main body of the washer, select the programs you want to use and press the start button. Depending on the programs you have selected, it will then clean, sterilise and dry bottles / breast pump components," explained Cath.

The only slight hassle is filling the water tank - it suggests taking this off the unit, filling it and sliding it back on. The tank is quite heavy when full and it is a bit awkward to get the tank back on the unit with where the washer fits on our kitchen side. We've therefore found the easiest way is to fill the tank using a separate bottle or jug.

How fast does the Bebello Washer work?

"If you wash, sterilise and eco dry it takes 149 minutes. Wash cycle is 19 mins, sterilise 10 mins, quick dry 45 mins and eco dry 120 mins. It then automatically goes into a protect cycle that lasts 72 hours."

What is the capacity like?

We can fit four large Dr Browns bottles into the washer. It is big enough for our needs. Any bigger and the actual unit would be difficult to fit on the side in our kitchen.

Is there any discolouration after sterilisation?

"No discolouration. I can occasionally see drying spots left on the bottles but it says this is to be expected."

How does the Bebello compare to other sterilisers?

"It does more as it washes the bottles too. I like that all is done in the one unit and the bottles stay sterile for 72 hours when left in the unit. This time is counted down on the display."

Does the Bebello Washer represent good value for money?

Yes, I think it does represent good value for money. I wish we had discovered it when our son was younger as we would have saved time washing the bottles by hand and using a microwave steriliser.

Overall verdict

I love this item. It saves us time, is easy to use and is much less hassle than washing bottles by hand and using a microwave steriliser. I wish I had bought it when my son was younger.
