I’m going to assume I know what scansion means. I don’t know whether he added a syllable for that or whether he’s an idiot who doesn’t know how to pronounce words. Either could be possible, tbh, he sings a song about attacking women who don’t use people’s preferred pronouns, or who believe in biology. Not a good indicator of someone bright.

(scansion is about where you make a poem have the right rhythm by using the right number os syllables. So Cliff could have written;

With logs on the fire etc etc
