In the wake of the conviction of Tara Wood.

You can expect to receive a 'brick to the teeth' and be 'curb stomped' if you disagree with men.

How many more levels in "the world is beyond parody"?

I'm tired

Are they taking the piss? And my friends laugh at me when I can't spot satire, but this is why!

TripleRainbow · 16/04/2018 23:43

Their Terf song goes something like:

"If you misgender you deserve a brick in the teeth"

Equality for all, equality for all" Confused

I saw a few of their other titles. They read like wall stickers on Goldsmiths campus.

It's hardly Billy Bragg.

AngryAttackKittens · 16/04/2018 23:46

Yeah, not really recalling any Billy Bragg songs with titles like "Murder People Who You Don't Like, Yeah Yeah Yeah".

Smelly Cat, the misogynistic antifa version.

LassWiADelicateAir · 16/04/2018 23:57

They do have a song called I Love my Dog - which initially was disappointing to find but reassuringly has the line "I love my dog but the rest of you can fuck right off"

TripleRainbow · 17/04/2018 00:06

I wasn't going to watch it as I thought it would annoy me too, but it's so bad it has no impact.

The struggle to sing "trans exclusionary radical feminism" was distracting, the guy was running out of breath.

LassWiADelicateAir · 17/04/2018 00:11

I haven't actually watched it. I just voted it down. I have listened to a few seconds of I Love my Dog and Tankies are People Too (what the hell is a tankie ?) on their Bandcamp site and they are terrible

I thought you might be joking but it's there Grin

If this was ten years ago this would be a parody band, what's the hell has happened.

AngryAttackKittens · 17/04/2018 00:23

As a leftist I find antifa sort of vaguely embarrassing at the best of times, like that one uncle who gets drunk at family events and passes out face first in the soup tureen if someone doesn't keep an eye on him.

TripleRainbow · 17/04/2018 00:33

I see the Antifa as more the EDL Youth League but with A-levels.

MadBadDaddy · 17/04/2018 01:20

Hi Mumsnet.

I've been thinking about signing up here recently and this has pushed me over the edge.

Speaking as someone who sees themselves very much under the Trans Umbrella (but still living as my birth-gender), can I say, to anyone who might value my opinion, that I'm as disgusted by this video as anyone else? I feel like apologising for it but I'm not sure why - the video is crappy, the song is crappy. It may even be some sort of edgy parody but whatever, I've recently realised that these kind of appalling words and sentiments are far from unique. I am sticking my neck out here because I feel the need to say That's Not Me. Those who lobby, supposedly in my name, are not representing my values when they harrass, intimidiate or attack others to get what they want. It seems to be a particularly poor strategy if the objective is greater acceptance.

This is my first actual post here. Love to all x

AngryAttackKittens · 17/04/2018 01:24

I think this video is a perfect example of the Poe concept. Serious or parody, who can tell?

Everyone has that vaguely associated with them and you really wish they weren't and ugh can they please just go away part of whatever movement or demographic they're attached to, MadBad. Have some Wine if it helps.

LassWiADelicateAir · 17/04/2018 01:34

And some Cake MadBadDaddy. Cake always helps.

differentnameforthis · 17/04/2018 07:32

Please consider reporting them to youtube.

I have done so, and with another video too.

differentnameforthis · 17/04/2018 07:33

Welcome, @MadBadDaddy

Was totally unaware of kerb stomping then saw American History X years ago. That scene has stayed with me all these years as on of the most horrific things I’ve seen on screen.

SporadicSpartacus · 17/04/2018 07:52

Another one who didn’t know what kerb stomping was. Thought it was like kicking s/o to the kerb. It is significantly awfuller.

Not going to report, though. It’s not a credible threat of violence so YouTube will ignore it. I also quite enjoy the thought of this coming up when those 2 have their first job interviews after uni.

Welcome @MadBadDaddy :)

Exactly the same here. I wish I could un-see it.

SuburbanRhonda · 17/04/2018 07:57

I’m a member of Bandcamp - I’ll see if I can find out more about the kind of content they’re happy to host.

AngryAttackKittens · 17/04/2018 08:00

Thing is, if these guys were actually concerned about harm coming to trans people they could have written a song about the men who murder trans people, or beat them up. But is that who they're fantasizing about enacting brutal punishment upon?

Nah. Who cares about violent men when you have unruly, disobedient women to threaten in the hopes of making sure that the rest of the women fall in line and never dare to defy you again?

Sarahconnor1 · 17/04/2018 08:09

Nothing more woke than lefty men singing (well attempting to sing) about smashing a womans teeth in.

It was mentioned on a different thread that this feels like a male power grab. The current climate is allowing men to be misogynistic arses and get away with it.

Hypermice · 17/04/2018 08:16

if these guys were actually concerned about harm coming to trans people..

This baffles me too.

“We are afraid of the men’s toilets because men might be violent to us.”
“Well yes, men can be violent. Male violence is a big issue. Shall we talk about it and try to find a way for these men to be less violent? So that both women and trans women are safe? How can we tackle Male violence?”
“No actually we were planning on targeting women.”
“Ummmm.....”

The more of this stuff I see the more I’m convinced that What’s behind this is male dominance. I actually don’t think these people care one whit about keeping trans people safe (and everyone should be safe - no one should be under a threat of violence or live their lives in fear.) because it isn’t women committing violent acts against transwomen it just isn't.

So if Male violence against transwomen is the issue why the fuck are women being targeted? It’s insane. Until you realise that maybe it’s been the agenda all along and his whole thing is about men ‘taking their rightful place’ at the top of the pile.
Note it’s generally white males as well. To me it’s a bunch of people who are used to being in charge of everything, who have realised that actually, the playing field has levelled a bit and that now people of colour and god forbid, women, are a little bit more equal and they’re having a massive tantrum about it. With added violence.

Nextloorejext · 17/04/2018 08:22

Makes you wonder if enough men are unhappily (even unconsciously) bubbling away below the surface these past years at being forced to share and play nicely with the weaker sex that this chance to legitimately scream at women (and get a pat on the back for it) is just too tempting to pass on. I think the likes of Metoo and the many high profile rape cases like Ched Evans and the Ulster Rugby players where they’re actually having to confront the issues of consent and coercion, the thousands of false rape allegations ruining millions of innocent mens lives - it’s one thing giving women the vote but they actually want a say in how things are run as well.

Hypermice · 17/04/2018 08:23

Also if you look at the white supremacists, the alt right - it’s all angry young white men who have been told they’re god like creatures in charge of everything and hen have got out into the world and realised that actually they have to compete against a female Indian software engineer, or a Male Jewish construction worker or a black female manager, all of whom are just out there doing their jobs well and existing happily on an increasingly level playing field.
And then they realise that the world doesn’t give you a job and respect just because you’re a white male - you have to earn it like everyone else. So they get mad.
And then they see that the universe doesn’t supply you with a hot submissive woman because women are actually people in their own right not prizes for existing and they get mad.
And they do t have he self awareness to realise that if they want these hinges they have to work for them just like everyone else does regardless of sex or race - they just blame it on he women who don’t want hem and the blacks people who don’t defer to them and the world thatdoeant see how brilliant they are.

And thus was born the alt right, red pill, return of kings and probably, Transactivisim.
