Thought I’d set the new month up as @yogachick has other exciting things to focus on!

Today I’m doing a live Reflections and Resolutions Workshop of Sarah Beth’s and I’m starting her 4 week menstrual cycle calendar with a gentle video for Cramps.

Back much improved thanks @poisonwood. Your practice is sounding fab!
Meditation and hip flexor deep stretch from the calendar today for me

Jumbojem · 24/12/2024 15:31

Happy Christmas Yogis!
I did a quick morning yoga with Kassandra but think I'm signing out now until January as everyone is home and that makes it awkward to have time/space to do yoga. I'm really looking forward to the Sarah Beth and YWA January series. I love starting a new year with lots of yoga. Usually downhill from there for me in terms of consistency but it definitely helps beat the midwinter post Christmas blues.

Yogachick · 24/12/2024 18:35

Enjoy @Jumbojem see you in January x

Poisonwood · 24/12/2024 22:40

Happy Christmas @Jumbojem see you in 2025 😊

V tired today, and too busy to get on my mat till after this evening’s church service…surya namaskar A/B and wheel/bridge. Oh, and tried super soldier pose (Viparita Parivrtta Surya Yantrasana) for first time, managed three quarters of the manoeuvring before collapsing 😆😆

SB 20 min Feel Totally Body for mobility from the calendar. Absolutely wonderful practice, got me all sweaty and stretched after an afternoon vegging on the sofa. Again I found it tough,I definyneed more active practices.
I’m super proud that I’ve practiced in some capacity daily from 15th November 🥳 41 days!!!!
Merry Christmas/ Happy Holidays xx

Hello yogis - just hopping on here to follow you into the new year.

I was on the YWA thread at the start of the year and followed the monthly calendars all year. Although I didn't practice every single day - I've only just finished September - I'm pretty pleased to have done three quarters of a year of yoga. I lost the threads at some point in the year and stopped posting.

I'm off work now until 13 Jan, so no excuse not to practice between now and then - I'm going to pick up the last few days of the YWA December calendar and start again in January. It would be great to have the company!

Yogachick · 26/12/2024 20:57

Ho @OhOneOhTwoOhThree ! Great to have you with us.
#42 YWA 17 mins Yoga for Lizards. I didn’t realise how much Ive missed her style💛

Yogachick · 27/12/2024 10:51

#43 FWFG Dec calendar,17 mins ,Yoga for Digestion. I’ve gotten very fat of late so had to adjust for belly, hopefully will improve as I clean up my act💛

Poisonwood · 27/12/2024 20:40

@OhOneOhTwoOhThree lovely to have you here. 😊

I did SB videos on her menstrual program yesterday, which were nice.

Today, I did yoga in the morning luckily as this afternoon I found out my only-5-years-old beautiful dog has incurable cancer and my focus has been her. She does like laying by the mat when I’m practicing though, so I’ll do some kind of asana tomorrow before I put the fire on for her to enjoy.

Thank you @Poisonwood. Sorry for your bad news.

YWA yoga for transitions after parkrun today. It feels good to be back on it after a few days off.

Poisonwood · 28/12/2024 17:04

SB 30 min Calming practice for stress relief, was really nice for my hips. Also 20 min lymphatic drainage practice and I’m just about to do 20 min Sun A/B to some gentle music.

@Poisonwood my heart breaks for you xxx
FWFG Yoga for Transitions today. #44. There’s a side crow in there,I can’t even get my hands to the floor. I’m trying to approach the new year from a place of love though. After 59 years of self loathing this is a challenge but a positive giving one.

Poisonwood · 28/12/2024 21:09

@Yogachick thank you. You really touched a chord with me with your last sentence - sometimes I feel so sad for myself that I’ve spent all these years beating myself up. But we deserve self-respect, and yoga definitely helps.

FWFG- Blanket yoga 39 mins from the calendar. I’m fighting a cold, thought this would be a nice one, little pop in the middle but a nice stretch & snuggle #45

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 29/12/2024 19:48

Snap @Yogachick! I enjoyed it.

Poisonwood · 29/12/2024 20:32

I’m glad you both enjoyed the blanket yoga 😊. I was tempted but thought I’d be likely to want to fall asleep lol.

Did 30 min SB lower back pain practice, some nice stretches. 10 day long period is leaving me very run down (anaemic at moment anyways) so I’m trying to do gentle yoga rather than push myself for no need and risk injury.

Poisonwood · 31/12/2024 10:41

Did SB hamstrings practice yesterday, have added it to favourites. Today did her 30 min New Year’s Eve practice which was lovely, then after a cup of tea I did another 30 min power yoga.
I also enjoyed the Spotify playlist she recommended in the NYE vid, Entropy by Liam Phran - have added that to my music as I’d like to do more free flow practices myself but like having some music with it.

I have managed a grand total of 1 yoga practice this month 😂

December is just not my thing!

Ready to pick it up again from tomorrow. I think daily will elude me until it's nice enough to get outside in the mornings (April? I managed July to October this year).

Thanks for keeping the threads going @Poisonwood and @Yogachick , and to everyone else who's posted.

So sorry to hear your bad news @Poisonwood

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 31/12/2024 19:01

I did the YWA sessions yesterday and today, looking forward to starting Prana with Adriene tomorrow.

Poisonwood · 31/12/2024 19:03

@PatienceOfEngels the good thing is your practice is always waiting for you, like a comfy pair of slippers. You’ll slip in to it when it’s right. I’ve never practiced outside, I’m looking forward to it I think though I don’t know if I’ll be able to focus as well.
