Thought I’d set the new month up as @yogachick has other exciting things to focus on!

Today I’m doing a live Reflections and Resolutions Workshop of Sarah Beth’s and I’m starting her 4 week menstrual cycle calendar with a gentle video for Cramps.

@PatienceOfEngels I’m not a teacher so I can only imagine your exhaustion with all the Christmas activities on top of your normal workload, that’s without organising your own Christmas. Sending you some good calm light xx
Today was Meditation for Acceptance then 20 mins Wake Up Full Body Flow from the calendar, done this evening. The mantra I chose was calm, perfect for me tonight .The stiffness & bone tiredness has eased today, suspect was the dregs of jet lag,I’m sure my practice, however small has helped.
I love fairy lights @Poisonwood ,& the softness of candlelight. Husband likes full blast lights so we each do a bit of compromising😊

Poisonwood · 12/12/2024 20:11

Just over an hour of asanas and my nightly meditation. Feeling a bit low today, hope tomorrow I feel brighter. Did manage to fit in 10 min of yoga before school, which was nice, and I’ll try to do that more.

@Poisonwood me too, so just SB meditation for Calm. I did a Pilates and yoga practice with Jessica Smith as well. Very tough today

Jumbojem · 12/12/2024 22:22

108 sun salutations @Poisonwood wow, that is some challenge!
My hip pain is due to me upping running from barely any back in Oct (calf injury) to 4 times a week in November, ramped it up too quickly. Yoga really does keep these niggles in check so I shouldn't neglect it.
I did 15 mins SB standing yoga this am, makes a nice change not to do down dog, plank, cobra and be on the wrists. Still challenging, tree pose is my nemesis, but enjoyed it.

Poisonwood · 13/12/2024 19:28

@Jumbojem I’m pretty sure SB does a Runners rest day practice that might be quite nice for you. I’m definitely a tree that’s blowing in the wind when I do tree pose 😁.

Quiet day yoga-wise today, walked the dog in the rain and feel quite chilled…I did a 20min full body flow plus 5min feet video this morning and practiced some Sun Salutations this evening. I’m looking forward to some longer deep stretch sessions over the weekend.

Today’s calendar Release for feet and ankles. Deceptively intense, had to come out of it several times

Jumbojem · 14/12/2024 15:07

Do any of you have blocks and can recommend any? Done a couple of practices this week which use blocks and I only have one and it's a light foam so it is too easy to knock over. Noticed yoga instructors seem to have cork ones?

Poisonwood · 14/12/2024 22:15

@Jumbojem I have cork ones, maybe from Yoga Matters?? Anyway, I’ve never accidentally knocked them over, they’re sturdy and they weren’t expensive either when bought as a pair.

30 min full body flow today, taking it easy as wrenched my shoulder somehow reaching for something off a shelf. No pain exactly but it was sharp at the time and now feels weak and just wrong.

Hello everyone.
Fell off the yoga wagon.

but excited to see Adrienne is doing a January 7 days! Hoping this will help me get back to it.

Poisonwood · 15/12/2024 13:50

@Rummikub it might be a lovely way back for you 😊

OP posts:
Rummikub · 15/12/2024 23:59

@Poisonwood yes that’s what im
hoping for.
Just 7 days is surely manageable!

im still off sick and having rehab so I’m hoping it’s a good fit.

Poisonwood · 17/12/2024 07:23

Sunday was an hour of slow flow, then yesterday was my 1.5hr in-person class - the teacher is brilliant at sequencing, I’m always left yoga drunk.

I did a runners recovery SB as recommended by @Poisonwood I thought a nice slow one on Monday morning would be nice after a longer run but actually found it a bit boring, 4 poses on each side held for several minutes. Might have been better as an evening unwind than something to kick off the week. Lesson learnt!
I'm also keen to see what the YWA 7 days will be like. Starting on the 1 st as well which is different, usually day 1 is just the intro but I guess with only 7 days you can't muck around.
I am aiming to do the SB 30 days too, but I think these are only 10 mins? So should be easy to squeeze in.

Poisonwood · 17/12/2024 21:55

Sounds a nice plan @Jumbojem. I’d quite like to follow a 30 day…if the SB ones are generally 10 min I definitely could as I could add any other bits I feel my body needs on top. Almost always hip stretches, but consultant happy with me doing lots so that would be a good way to mix.

Stressful day so I did 45min tight neck/hips video. Just what I needed this evening.

OP posts:
Poisonwood · 18/12/2024 19:47

Sixty minutes combination of power and flow…finished with my first headstand not against a wall. 💪

OP posts:
Yogachick · 19/12/2024 09:44

Ooo,how have you worked your way to the headstand @Poisonwood . I love being upside down.
I’ve been meandering along, mainly meditation but today I was browsing the app and saw a bit on anterior pelvic tilt, which I definitely have,so I did a practice to help that. Hopefully will help my lower back/hip pain over time. I also realised when I do squats I use my quads rather rather than my glutes who knew🤷‍♀️

Rummikub · 19/12/2024 14:53

how do you access the sb 30 day ones please? And are they suitable for low level?

Rummikub · 19/12/2024 18:17

thanks @Yogachick

Poisonwood · 19/12/2024 18:52

@Yogachick I don’t really know 😂. I realised whilst doing fallen tree pose that my balance is much better than it used to be and it got me wondering. Also I found one leg scrunched up (down?) towards my bottom and one leg straight out far, far easier to keep up.

SB 30 min Level 2 standing heart rate video, and a bunch of Sun As today. I lost count but around 40.

Poisonwood · 21/12/2024 04:36

Hips practice with Kino yesterday…very nice. Solstice today so it’ll be a couple of hours practice this afternoon.

OP posts:
Poisonwood · 22/12/2024 17:23

40 Sun A today. Pretty tired.

OP posts:
Yogachick · 22/12/2024 18:11

Meditation again. Visitors today so very time pressed but I feel I’m copping out a bit. Well done on your sunA marathon @Poisonwood !

Poisonwood · 22/12/2024 19:49

@Yogachick how’s your back? And @Rummikub your rehab?

OP posts:
Poisonwood · 23/12/2024 19:16

40 min deep hip/hamstring stretches and then did some Sun A/B, headstand and then I did my first successful wheel pose!!!! 💪😊💪
