Placemarking for when we get to July. Just posted on the previous thread

PatienceOfEngels · 01/07/2024 06:35

Hopping on!

Yogachick · 01/07/2024 12:18

July 1st and it’s Adriene with Yoga Joy from the July calendar for me. Not a massive fan of this one as she does that do this pose but if you want more do this then this then this leaving you just hanging for ages if you’re choose the first one. Personal preference only of course!

I’m also doing the July calendar with Adrienne on you tube. I wasn’t a fan of the first video either as it moved too fast between poses for me but sticking with it and determined to complete the full month.

Yogachick · 02/07/2024 16:46

Day 2 of the July calendar, a new one of Adriene’s but felt very samey as so many I’ve done before. The only intense bit was the 3 legged dd to right elbow, left elbow, centre combo, which always feels like it works my upper body more than my abs. The balancing is always dodgy for me ,made worse by my deciding to put a nice deep pile carpet in the spare/yoga room🙄

Adrienne done early in the morning while energy was up. I enjoy her routines and find it easy to follow without looking at the screen now.

Wall Pilates looks challenging!

Yogachick · 04/07/2024 18:33

Well done @40somethingme , I totally agree re morning energy, I have CFS and fibro , I get a significant slump in the afternoon and often go to bed before 8pm🙄
Another Pilates day for me, Day 3/7,it is tough & there’s no stretching which I’m missing so will be back yogaing soon.

Picked up where I left off with YWA True (day 5 high). On 6 weeks holiday now and really want to get on the mate everyday if I can.

Yogachick · 06/07/2024 21:19

Pilates again. Hovering table in there so am counting it😆

Just checking in. Been a bit slack the last week, birthdays, work etc upset my usual routine. If I don't do yoga first thing then chances are I won't do it all, despite best intentions!
I also gave the new YWA one a go, the title sounded interesting but same as others, found it a bit underwhelming.
Kassandra seems to be my go to at the mo as she has lots of short morning practices and doesn't do too much waffle.
@Yogachick wall pilates sounds interesting but that 6 pack pic on the thumbnail is so off-putting to me.

Yogachick · 08/07/2024 23:01

@Jumbojem i didn’t even notice the 6 pack thumbnail, just tried it because my friend sent me the link🙄. I’ve had a fibro flare but back to yoga today. I had an offer for half price Sarah Beth membership so have treated myself. She does a monthly calendar as well ,I started back with yesterdays 2-a 5 min quick& easy then a slow stretch for hips & sore legs ,both nice to get me on the mat and try & reduce the inflammation that comes with a flare

Still not feeling great but did a 5 min ankle mobility from SB app.

I’m still doing the Adrienne series and just like PP I need to do it in the morning otherwise it won’t happen!
My new strategy is to put the yoga mat on top of the bed before doing the school run. When I come back my first instinct is to tidy up and put it away but I know I have to do the exercise first.

What’s the name of the Kassandra channel people mention please?

PatienceOfEngels · 09/07/2024 18:54

Did YWA True day 6 on Sunday, skipped yesterday, and have just done True day 7 outside in the garden. Has been being here today and now storming. I could hear the thunder and see the black clouds rolling in as I was practicing. Swallows flying overhead. Absolute bliss!

Yogachick · 09/07/2024 20:15

@PatienceOfEngels how wonderful practicing outside with such dramatic weather!
@40somethingme I think you’re looking for Yoga with Kassandra on YouTube, pop it in the search and she’ll come up.
I’ve just done a SB 10 min Energising core practice, core is a huge weakness of mine, this worked without killing me. Also avoided the weird thing Adriene does in her core practices of look straight up at the ceiling, for me it kills my neck & doesn’t work my abs safely, but we’re all different

SB arms & upper body this morning, also has the start of learning to jump forward, something I’ve wanted to learn for ages . Then the other half of today’s calendar ,morning stretch, after I did a workout this evening. Only 10 mins each practice so nicely manageable

Did my yoga outside again today. True day 9 (skipped day because it's a very chill restorative one so saving for when I'm knackered).

SeaBlueGreen · 11/07/2024 07:58

Joining this thread. I’ve moved house/country in the last year and I really miss my old yoga teacher so much! Am going to try and get a regular home practice going instead. I just downloaded the Down Dog app having seen it on these threads and I really like the look of it.

Yogachick · 11/07/2024 21:25

Quite jealous of you @PatienceOfEngels ,the weather here hasn’t been good enough for outdoor yoga! Welcome @SeaBlueGreen let us know how you get on with the Down Dog app.
SB for me again today,a 15 min morning flow, then a 5 min chest & shoulder stretch this evening

Weather is so changeable here at the moment @Yogachick ! Frequent storms/high winds and then really warm/humid. Last night after dinner I had to go an put sunscreen on because the sun was suddenly so strong. And this morning it's grey and raining!

Did True Day 10 outside yesterday - blue skies and swifts overhead again. I also bought the Core Play programme last year and did the prehab exercises. Think I might try to start doing them in front of the TV to build up my wrist strength.

Yogachick · 12/07/2024 11:07

Today was 10 min Power Yoga for Legs followed by Cool Down for Legs & Hips ,both Sarah Beth. Ten minutes to jelly legs then delicious stretching. What’s the Core Play programme @PatienceOfEngels ?

PatienceOfEngels · 13/07/2024 08:11

Rained almost the whole day yesterday but dry enough to head outside for YWA True day 11 after dinner.

Yogachick · 13/07/2024 13:37

Didn’t fancy the SB calendar option this morning so sis a wonderful 10 min morning stretch which was for tomorrow, hit the aches from yesterdays playing lawn bowls in the cold rain
