It’s September and a new school year. Can we do yoga every day? Let’s try!

Hello! Already vowed to be better in September! Day 1 done. I always forget how hard days 1 and 2 are.

Sooverthemill · 02/09/2022 08:40

Aren't they?! I did a short one from kassandra today as I had a rubbish night ( bed after midnight and awake from 4.30) but I wanted to do something at least

I'm in! I started YWA 3 weeks ago and am really enjoying it. Did day 1 of celebrate yesterday. I'm a runner and my knees are starting to protest a lot so I'm hoping this will help.

Sooverthemill · 02/09/2022 09:22

@WantSomeEqualitea welcome and brilliant! We have found this daily thread very help for motivation although in august we all seemed to be busy.

Checking in, no yoga done yet though!

ArabeI · 02/09/2022 13:33

Checking in again. I hardly managed any yoga last month so not much to update in the last thread. Hoping to do better this month.

Also a runner, similar to pp, with occasionally protesting knees!

BestIsWest · 02/09/2022 16:28

Day 2 done.

Shinyandnew2022 · 03/09/2022 08:56

Checking in. Thanks for the new thread ! Need to get the DC back to school next week and then I WILL get back on track . Hoping to hit the mate later today though.
Am a bit worried I will feel like a beginner again .

stillherenow · 03/09/2022 14:53

I'm doing breathe this month. Anyone done this? I do forward though the 'breathing ' bits at the start though 😂

notanicepersonapparently · 03/09/2022 22:10

@stillherenow I started breath. I've just done day 6. I began with move in January and have stuck with that one except for doing Home for one run through. The day with all the boats killed my abs and I didn't try it again. I'm finding all the breathing stuff boring and I'm trying to relax and enjoy it. I think the fact I'm finding it hard means I need to do more of it iyswim.

BestIsWest · 04/09/2022 17:11

Move day 4 done. I did most of 3 yesterday but was interrupted.

Sooverthemill · 06/09/2022 11:55

Sorry all, just so busy! I did a short kassandra one today

I’m in.

I’ve been doing YWA ‘neck and shoulder’ mixed in with a bit of ‘for beginners’ to ease me in gently because it’s been a while since I did Yoga properly!

Started Move Day 1 today. Couldn’t hold some of the leg extensions but gave them a good go.

Has anyone completed a 30 day and then gone back to the beginning and found they could achieve the things they previously couldn’t?

WantSomeEqualitea · 06/09/2022 15:45

Checking in. Really enjoyed the morning flow one today. Couldn't do the stacked feet plank though!
The next few days look to be quite short so I might pick some others to add in.

I quite fancy some of the YWA for weightloss videos, any recommendations?

How's everyone getting on?

Sooverthemill · 06/09/2022 17:44

@YelloCar yes! We all did it pretty much January to June and found we made massive improvements each time. Amazingly
@WantSomeEqualitea i do the hips and core weight loss one but beware she has previously said that she only tagged them weightloss for traffic!

OP posts:
BestIsWest · 07/09/2022 19:18

@YelloCar I couldn’t do a lot of it in January, especially Downward Dog and plank, and there is still a lot I can’t do - half moon and crow will never happen., I’ll never be flexible enough. But I’ve just managed my first cobra to plank. It’s taken six or seven months but I feel so much stronger.

YelloCar · 07/09/2022 19:23

That’s good to know @Sooverthemill & @BestIsWest! Move Day 2 for me today.

Sooverthemill · 12/09/2022 09:21

Okay so,last week was rubbish for me, mix of reasons but I did n 11 min one this morning because I thought I had an early gp appointment but found out it was t until 11. Could have done a longer one

OP posts:
Sooverthemill · 14/09/2022 08:34

So I've done two days running of a kassandra short session. It was incredibly hard! You know the table top position where you put out one keg and then the opposite arm? Well, this one you put out the same side arm as leg. Obviously I fell over, but I could do the one legged balance. So not horrendous it's if anyone wants to try. I do recommend despite my failure!

BestIsWest · 14/09/2022 09:24

I have been rubbish the last week. Was away at the weekend then too tired yesterday but will be back on it today.

Rummikub · 19/09/2022 18:18

hello everyone,

Had a long break but want to pick this up again.

Dows anyone know if yoga is good for blood pressure?

Sooverthemill · 20/09/2022 09:34

Yes it is good for contributing to lowering high blood pressure. One of the reasons I persevere. I have high blood pressure and take meds

did a 10 minute kassandra one today. I've been feeling very unwell with intolerances ( still waiting for hospital) but I have to get back into the routine

OP posts:
Rummikub · 20/09/2022 22:20

Ok that is good to know and gives me a bit more motivation. I think I’ll end up on BP tablets too. I put my figures into google.. stage 3 hypertension..

Tomorrow yoga in the morning. Then I have a week before my GP appointment!

Rummikub · 20/09/2022 22:22

10 minute workout sounds good. Hope you get hospital appointment through soon.

Rummikub · 21/09/2022 14:18

So I did Move day 20. I read pp saying dat 1 and 2 were hard and decided to swerve those.

it was lovely to do it, hear her say well done for showing up. My favourite part I think!
And I was pleasantly surprised that I wasn’t too rubbish. I always feel better afterwards
