Right so, I am starting this today.

I love Candace's you tube videos and have been doing them for a couple of years. I've lost my way a bit recently, haven't done any since the start of the school holidays and have been eating far too many icecreams. I'm hoping this might be a good kick start. I feel so much better when I practise regularly.

Anyone else fancy it?

Day 17 yoga with binds completed. I found that tough going. I added a bit of legs up the wall at the end because it's so good for my varicose veins. Lovely rest day yesterday.

How are you Spinning?

I'm slightly confused by this
A) is this vinyasa yoga or not as burpees don't sound very yogic
B) if it is vinyasa yoga, would I now be starting on day 12 (or whatever) or can I search for day 1 and do it in my own time?

Thanks

CoteDAzur · 10/09/2016 22:46

I did only Day 1 and there were no burpees there. I've been reading those as being Twenty's own exercise routine Smile

TwentyTinyToes · 11/09/2016 06:40

It's a 30 day series of yoga sessions and HIIT. So some days you complete a yoga class, all with a slightly different focus, other days you complete a HIIT (burpees, squats etc) I guess it may have been better placed in exercise but Candace is primarily a yoga teacher and my primary focus is yoga but the HIIT is designed to complement your yoga practice - build upper body strength and stamina. The sessions are available from day one. I'll add a link.

I have to say I am loving the HIIT (well not really but I love the feeling afterwards!) and will definable incorporate into my exercise once I have finished the 30 days.

Day 18 completed. It was a series of burpees and jump squats, going up from 1 of each, then 2 of each all the way up to 6 and then back down to 1, like a pyramid. Then I did 1 minute of plank and 10 minutes of yoga. In between sorting out two small children with toast, milk, TV requests etc! Pleased it's done for the day now though.

It sounds good. I really like Yoga with Adriene but I've been too busy. My goal in September is to go to the gym everyday, whether it be for Pilates, yoga, a HIIT workout or some cardio. I think I might try this in October. I find HIIT very effective.

TwentyTinyToes · 12/09/2016 20:53

Day 19 yoga completed. It was a slow flow vinyasa with lots of deep stretches for the legs at the end. Just really enjoyed it and dozed off at the end. I'm tired today and it was just what I needed.

Day 20 HIIT completed. 10 rounds of 10 push ups, sit ups and squats. That was never going to happen so instead I did 10 rounds of 10 plank exercises (some push ups), 10 sit ups/ abs work and 10 squats. Didn't take long and it feels like I've worked hard. Did about 10 minutes yoga afterwards, I was aiming for some gentle stretches but I ended up doing lots of sun salutations with variations, it felt like what I needed!

Well, I started yoga again, with my usual group of people. The first downward dog was absolute agony! Shock I am quite surprised that I have lost so much elasticity in just two weeks.

TwentyTinyToes · 14/09/2016 07:48

Yes but I'm always amazed at how quickly it comes back (the exception being my bloody hamstrings)

Rest day today - hurrah!

Thank you for the link I've been lurking trying to work out how to find it on YouTube

CoteDAzur · 14/09/2016 08:28

Yes it was my blood hamstrings doing most of the screaming yesterday!

HuckfromScandal · 14/09/2016 08:54

I quite fancy this.
How long does it take every day?
And do you find it all on YouTube?

CoteDAzur · 14/09/2016 09:02

Huck - There is a link downthread. Click & scroll down until you get to Day 1, Day 2, etc.

TwentyTinyToes · 14/09/2016 09:19

It's all available on you tube. The link above has week one on it and links to weeks 2, 3 and 4. Each session takes at the most an hour but many of the HIIT sessions are 10 - 20 minutes and you could easily swap them around to fit certain days.

My upper body strength has improved no end and my general stamina. I don't weigh myself so I have no idea if I have lost any weight but I am much more toned especially my legs. I have lots of energy and feel great. I would highly recommend it.

Day one done Smile

TwentyTinyToes · 14/09/2016 14:32

That's great Lyra What did you think? Day 2 is dreadful if I remember correctly, I think it's the worse by far, so once it is done nothing is quite as bad as that!

Lovely practice I have a bad shoulder so had to modify the twisty lunge thing and did the plan's on my elbows otherwise I loved it. I'm cancelling my gym membership as there just isn't enough good yoga classes so this is perfect. Will let you know if I survive tomorrow!

LyraMortalia · 15/09/2016 08:56

Not sure I'm doing the same one as you I'm doing the 30 minutes flow which repeats day one til day five I'm sticking with it and day two done enjoyed it even more today and handstand was way easier than yesterday. I'm menopausal and had bags of energy yesterday so hoping that will carry on

LyraMortalia · 16/09/2016 07:05

Hmm Blush read that wrong but I'm sticking with day 1 til Sunday when I'm not working. Just done my practice had to get up early as really busy today but proud of getting it done.

TwentyTinyToes · 16/09/2016 20:16

Oops my post didn't load yesterday. Day 22 yoga yesterday, about 40 minutes yoga with a focus on core.

Then today, Day 23 was 10 minutes gentle yoga followed by deep breathing in five poses. My crow is improving (I can do it with control - momentarily Grin ) Reclined cobblers pose at the end assisted by my 3 year old!

Lyra well done on the early session. Hope it set you up for a great day!

My goal is to be able to do a handstand without using the wall. I really like Candace her voice is very relaxing, just the right amount of instruction. Doing day two HIIT tomorrow

LyraMortalia · 17/09/2016 07:39

Just did day two (on day four but it fits better) those rupees were awful but the pressups were fine feeling virtuous now

TwentyTinyToes · 17/09/2016 22:21

Impressed by your handstands! And your push ups! I love her style and I find her instructions easy to follow. If you look at her instagram she does the most beautiful, graceful yoga flows, and lifts weights.

Day 24 HIIT, really short on time today but blasted through it, modifying as needed. Did 10 minutes yoga afterwards.
