If you don't mind me asking!!

Just want to know if my compnay is justified in saying that most companies are giving low payrises this year.

we normally get the inflation rate as a minimum and then a merit increase. We get ours on anniversary of hiring date I think.

comparethePeachydotcom · 13/02/2009 17:58

dh on a pay freeze

trixymalixy · 13/02/2009 18:00

We normally get the inflation rate as a minimum and then a merit increase normally, but they have given a flat rate payrise this year.

Waiting to hear for dh. Wouldn't expect much tbh.
I was very lucky as work for a uni and an agreed pay scheme was set up two years ago which finished in October with a rise of 2.5% or RPI whichever was higher - and RPI was 5% in October, so we got that! That was very flukey though. I think no payrise and having a job still would be a fairly good result in this climate, certainly dh wouldn't complain (though will be very happy if he gets a decent payrise!).

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/02/2009 13:11

I got 100% pay rise. Unfortunately 100% of nothing is still nothing!

MissisBoot · 14/02/2009 13:13

Get inflationary increase and move up a scale on pay spine.

PandaG · 14/02/2009 13:13

I got no pay rise (second year running)

DH got 2%

friend of mine got 33% pay cut, in order to keep her job

LadyMuck · 14/02/2009 13:16

DH on pay freeze. Still got a bonus but less than last year.

Cicatrice · 14/02/2009 13:18

I'll be getting 2.4%. We're on a 3 year deal.

kiddiz · 14/02/2009 13:59

My dh hasn't had a pay rise for 6 years and his company are currently in administration so we're not optimistic for this year either!!

Hmm, maybe 2% isn't all that bad then.

Nightmare for those that have had pay cuts, but I am being made redundant so i would rather have a pay cut and keep my job.

trixy I think 2% is quite good. DH is on a payfreeze and also his company have banned any promotions for anybody.

drinkmoretea · 14/02/2009 17:20

My payrise is frozen with review on situation in 6 months

DH no payrise

TequilaMockinBird · 14/02/2009 17:26

I got 13% but only because I was low down on the pay scale compared to my colleagues!

nowwearefour · 14/02/2009 17:27

i know that i have definitely got a 2% standard of living increase. i may have been given a merit increase too and i will find out on tuesday whether/ if i have and if so, how much!! would have known already if i hadnt been on a holiday last week....

TheRealStig · 14/02/2009 17:30

the whole of my company was on 0% (which is why I left) apart from some of the people on protected terms and conditions.

Wezz · 14/02/2009 17:58

Ours is linked to last September's RPI which was 5%

WowOoo · 14/02/2009 17:59

Zero.

SweetCheeksLovesSweetTalk · 14/02/2009 17:59

2.5% rise which was part of a pay deal agreed last year

ByTheSea · 14/02/2009 18:03

My DH also hasn't had a rise in years didn't get one this year and no bonus this year either (he usually gets about 10% bonus). He is an IT manager in a multinational bank. We seem to get poorer every year.

ZoeC · 14/02/2009 18:04

I got 1%.
