Hello All

Thought it would be a good idea to get a thread going where we can all share our thoughts, fears and check we've got everything covered for next week and beyond!!!!

When do I return to work - mon 5th Jan
DC? - 9 mth DD
How long have I been off- left work in feb last year so almost a year off, where has it gone??????
Childcare - mum is having her
hours - Full Time
Thoughts about going back - If I think about work alone, am excited and bring it on! If I think about PFB I don't want anyone spending all day with her every week but me not even my mum

Ok so what have I got done, house full deep clean, work clothes (bought not yet tried on) and shoes,

What have I got to do? haircut, buy all stuff needed for mums house,

What else do I need to do???

Here comes another week folks!!!!

I'm in for all five days this week so should be interesting to say the least, no more trips to the indoor soft play centre.

Still need to get a photo for my desk.

Five days here too this week, then three days from then on. My job share didn't turn up last week so hopefully she'll turn up on Thursday. I'll be totally hacked off if I have to go in for no reason again this week.

DD at MIL tomorrow, nursery Tues/Weds and my mother Thurs/Fri. Poor little scrap doesn't know whether she's coming or going at the moment

Good luck for tomorrow everyone

Gah. It's tomorrow. Feel quite sick, irrational and hormonal. Quite like being pregnant really!

bluepanda · 26/01/2009 22:13

Yu know what, it was actually quite enjoyable, just thought i'd post in case anyone else is almost due back.... the anticipation was worse than the reality, altho it helped I left ds playing happily with his daddy who is off this wk and have not had to cross the evil nursery bridge yet!

I think the hardest part for me is getting away from mum and dad's when I pick DD up LOL

HarrietTheSpy · 27/01/2009 11:27

Has anyone on here applied for flexible working? Am trying to do two days at home, same no of hours. It's difficult with the reasons though -- be there to support my child befopre 8 pm??? Is that good enough for you? Maybe they'll say no though. Given the nature of my job, i could do it anywhere. By saying no, they were kinda be choosing to be difficult...but that's they're right I guess, if they can justify it.

Please everyone - fingers crossed for me.

likessleep · 27/01/2009 13:48

harrietthespy - keeping fingers crossed for you.
it is so reassuring to hear from those who have started back, thanks for posting.

Harriettthespy - why not try the employment section there's lots of HR bods who might be able to help.

Hello all

How are we getting on????

I'm now full time and t seems like so long ago that I was at home with DD. Shes getting on well at ums though which is good. But boy is her routine messed up

VeryHungryKatypillar · 13/02/2009 12:48

I've been back for two weeks now and we've already had two colds and a d&v bug which completely wiped me out!

But work is going really well, I'm loving being back in the thick of it. I can't quite believe I've been off for ten months. DD has settled into nursery really well.. she isn't sleeping brilliantly there but I hope that will come with time ...
