Had a look for jobs around here last week on the jobcentre website and there was 10 jobs we aren't a wee village even or in a rural area. Its terrible. I would take factory work for now until I start again in Sept for there is no one advertising. I have a friend who is a recruitment manager for Blackpool and she doesn't have anything in that hasn't been filled. Grrrrrr

Can feel your pain nutty xxxx

Quick update to say that I had an interview for the CACHE Diploma today, and was offered an unconditional place for Sept

Fab news Emma- what does the course entail- is it collge and placements?

IllegallyBrunette · 01/07/2008 22:03

Yep, 3 days of college a week and then 2 days placement. I think we do a couple of block placements too.

We cover child development from 0-16 although we can choose particular options and focus on under 8's too.

Oh and the tutor also said that the course is worth 360 if you get the top grades and that alot of students go on to uni after, which is something to think about once I have been on the course for a bit.

My plan at the mo, is to do the course, get a job in my fave area, work for a couple of years and then perhaps do a foundation degree in early years, but it's early days so i'll just how it goes.

Just looking forward to starting now

Sounds interesting- my cousin did something similar ( or the same perhaps)- just graduated with foundation degree but I think that was through Birmingham College food tourism etc.
She has a fab job in a social services nursery.

Doing three days study and two days placement sounds like a good idea.

Good luck
