I wanted to thank everyone for their help on this thread.
I waited a month then presented all the content of the intense conversations back to him in professionalised business language. Result: calm conversation! Nobody cried! I think he was grateful.
i got lots of the elephants out of the room, it was like an elephant hotel.
I’ve bought a book that sounds promising: it’s called “the man who mistook his job for his life”. Waiting for it to arrive!
