Really nosey here but would anyone care to share how much they make and what they do for a job? Are you comfortable on your current salary? Can you holiday each year, can you afford nice things etc? Is it strenuous and stressful hours/in general?

This is something that is really interesting to me And would love to be a little nosey here! :)

Civil servant, earn £40k a year which is pretty good considering my only qualifications are A Levels. I'm 40ish with 20 yrs experience in the sector. There is scope still for further promotion. I'm based in the north west.

There is also good pension, sick pay, leave, job security etc.

PA, £29400 plus an annual bonus and some great perks. It's not great and I know I could get more elsewhere/in London but it's flexible (I do one day a week in the office) and not as soul destroying as my last job (which I was earning more with).

I'm thinking of leaving soon though but need to decide if I want to carry on being a PA or change career and if I do that what I want to do and can I do it with my current company.

40k for a middle management role in the world of professional qualifications. South East but not London and I'm home based so don't spend on commutes or wrap around childcare. It's enough to live on but only because DH earns quite a lot more. I like my job though and I have some scope for promotions

Occupational therapist. 35k ft salary with 3 years experience. Pt hours so pro rata’d. Would definitely struggle with this on my own but husband earns more.

good luck whatever you choose.
