Really nosey here but would anyone care to share how much they make and what they do for a job? Are you comfortable on your current salary? Can you holiday each year, can you afford nice things etc? Is it strenuous and stressful hours/in general?

This is something that is really interesting to me And would love to be a little nosey here! :)

Pharmaceutical regulatory affairs. Part-time 4 days a week, earn around 100k. Stressful but feel lucky to earn well despite working part-time.

Oh wow! Never heard of that! Great salary though and seems good work life balance too!

I am 32. I earn 55k plus overtime so probably around 62k. I work in a middle manager role in a Council. It's probably the least stressful but most responsible job I've ever had...if that makes any sense at all. I'm not dealing with the crisis and I don't find myself out in the dark responding to emergencies but essentially if I fuck up I can be personally sued.

Gosh I couldn’t do it. The pressure.

What about you @ForMauveHedgehog ? Keen to share?

Doesn't look like it 🤔

MsFogi · 15/04/2024 18:54

Why on earth are people putting this info on the www when the OP hasn’t divulged her salary etc and has ignored requests to do so?!?

delilabell · 15/04/2024 18:56

Part time ta in an sen school. I bring home £1200 a month

We manage due to dh earning a good wage and getting dla for my son.
I love my job but it can be quite draining as I get attacked quite often.
Cannot begin to imagine the wages some people earn but also you must have mortgages etc that equal it out

darwinsfinches · 15/04/2024 18:58

Teacher, 33k, working 4 days a week.

Dbirk · 15/04/2024 18:58

@MsFogi why not? If other women are thinking about a career change why not share what we all do and how much it earns? It's not traceable back to you.

ForMauveHedgehog · 15/04/2024 19:00

lol I don’t work hence why I’m interested in others careers so that I can see the variety of career options there are out there. I’m not holding anyone hostage to divulge their job and salary lol. It’s all anonymous. Please think before you post

I’m a higher level teaching assistant and earn £13,000 a year. I get paid for 30 hours a week but in reality it’s more like 35 hours a week that I work. Honestly I struggle to meet ends meet each month.

Lordofmyflies · 15/04/2024 19:05

Physiotherapist but own my clinic and work purely in private sector for £80K year. I work about 60 hours a week though.

Now that's more interesting to me, why you don't work than telling you my salary and what I do. Why don't you work? It sounds like you are seeking opinions so that you can choose a job?

catin8oots · 15/04/2024 19:05

Specialist advisor for a charity. £30k wfh. 44 single parent permanently skint.

22k part time picking knickers for a living. Stress free and easily done, work stays at work, found hours that suit my family.

Can I ask what picking knickers is? I'm intrigued.

LiterallyOnFire · 15/04/2024 19:07

HR £60k-ish for 4 days. Mostly WFH.

There are good CIPD qualification routes from post-GCSE to postgraduate.

Hello Everyone,
I currently have an annual salary of £167,391. For national security reasons I can't actually tell you what I do, but it is very important. Oh yes, and I get a free house, actually I think it maybe two houses.
And a helicopter.

SallyWD · 15/04/2024 19:08

I earn about £14k per year but work 50%. Would be £28k full time. Fortunately DH earns well so we're comfortable at the moment. I'm an admin assistant and I'm 49. I regret not establishing a career when I was younger.

IDontLikePinaColadas · 15/04/2024 19:11

Private events & weddings. Circa £70k per annum.

Thanks all. Not sure how to close this thread off but if you don’t feel comfortable sharing, no one is asking you to share. I am currently trying to establish career options hence why I am asking. There’s many jobs on here that I have never heard of. Sending love and light. X

IT Manager

Currently on £75k, almost fully wfh. Not that stressful (was a step down from my last senior IT manager role on £150k+ that was very stressful). Normal hours that I self-appoint for the most part. Flexibility to take time out my day for personal apts etc. Private health and dental cover.

I could afford nice holidays, I guess - but that's not my thing. Am preferring to pile as much as possible into mortgage, savings, pension.

People won't share if they're not comfortable. It's fine.

It might help if you told us where you're starting from in terms of previous experience/qualifications/aspirations.

Its nothing exciting, i work in clothing distribution for a supermarket chain. There is 3 types of warehouse - Ambiant , Chilled and clothing. Because our warehouse is the lightest loads the other warehouses call us knicker pickers because that is one of the items we pick.
