I have just signed up to work for Accuro. I have just set my account up today and hoping to get started next week with some typing

I can’t see a thread on here for Accuro and thought it would be good to hear if anyone here works for them typing, what your experience has been like and maybe help each other out.

What's Accuro? I'm really wanting to start with typing work on the side as need to earn some extra money. I work in Admin already so hoping I can find something. Do you have a link?
Thanks x

If you look up their website just on Google it will take you to their page and what you need to apply. I think you need to be based in uk and have secretarial experience x

@EmilyJ23

is there much work for them? Did you just send a brief CV over? Thanks

ttc31 · 08/06/2023 10:27

Hi,

How did you get on working with Accuro?

I signed up with them just over a week ago my experience is within GP surgeries I have received work on two occasions but not really consistent.

Hoping they are able to send some more stuff my way as I wouldn't mind typing more than GP letter/referrals etc.

Sorry I am only seeing this message now.

I have been getting what ever allocated amount that I request and they are always emailing asking if anyone can take on anymore as they are so busy

it really suits me working like this and working from home due to my health

has the work picked up for you?

Hi

I’ve also just signed up and got familiar with the software. I’ve just put my availability in, how long do you think it will be before I get any typing jobs?

Great idea about this Accuro chat by the way!

EmmaSummerJamie · 09/03/2024 11:39

I also signed up last week but haven't been allocated any work yet despite putting in my availability! Does it take a while to get work filtering through?

MyCyanDeer · 09/03/2024 14:54

I got work for a couple of days but then dry after that although I did put my availability up. I’m hoping work starts coming through from Monday.

Olly2021 · 09/03/2024 22:21

This is interesting, I've read some details on the website which says when you start at Accuro you will be at a set rate. How much do you earn to begin with and is it per hour or by the amount of text you type? Do you do an online typing speed test before you can join? Thanks

taylorswift1989 · 09/03/2024 22:24

Following with interest

MyCyanDeer · 16/03/2024 05:05

Hi

i don’t recall doing a typing test, I think I just submitted my CV. You get paid per audio minute and as far as I’m aware the rates differ/ change with experience/ the type of work you do. I maybe wrong though.

MyCyanDeer · 16/03/2024 05:06

Just wondering if you’ve had any consistent work through?

EmmaSummerJamie · 16/03/2024 12:32

Nope - barely anything despite me putting in availability.

MyCyanDeer · 18/03/2024 12:17

Yes, the same for me unfortunately

AlexisRosehip · 03/05/2024 18:58

Do you need to download Word desktop app to use Accuro interface or can you use the free online version? Thanks

VillageLife82 · 14/05/2024 19:04

Hi, all

I also work for Accuro and have done so for a few years. It's nice to see this thread on here.

Cerastar · 28/05/2024 15:56

Hi everyone

Great post as I'm thinking of joining Accuro as well. VillageLife82 as you have worked for Accuro for a few years, please could you let us know how you get on working for them? Is the work consistent, paid well and do you have team meetings or is it simply you just working remotely with no contact from your managers/peers?

Thank you in advance for answering my questions!

MyCyanDeer · 05/06/2024 22:12

Hi guys lovely to meet you all. Just wondering how everyone is getting on with Accuro?

zanarose · 13/07/2024 00:05

Hello, I wanted to ask about accuro medical transcriptionist role.

I just did a typing test as it said I failed.

I tried this 4 times and kept saying the same thing.

But it does not give you feedback on why you have failed.

I have previous typing experience with the NHS so to see I have failed really disheartened me.

I personally feel my typing was accurate. Without any spelling mistakes either.

I felt I was accurate.

I wasn't fast fast as I have been out of touch but I do also have dyspraxia and learning impairments. So when I start something I can be slow but the more I do it the better and faster I become.

Secondly I don't have a foot pedal and my hot keys on my Mac keyboard didn't work. So I had to click on the audio to pause and rewind.

I feel extremely disheartened right now.

Any tips ? Has anyone else failed the typing test before applying for the freelance job?

Thank you in advance for answering my questions!

I started in 2018, having had 10 years in the NHS as a medical secretary. I can't remember how many years were required, but definitely a few. The work is consistent and always has been. There is a huge variety of specialties, which I like. I don't really hear from any of the employers unless it's to see if I can do any more work that day. The pay is rubbish, I have to say, though. I find myself working 7.30-6 just to pay my half of the mortgage and bills. But, the staff do seem to value us transcribes, which makes a difference.

TypoQueen1 · 08/11/2024 22:11

I've been accepted by Accuro. Is their system easy to learn and use?

VillageLife82 · 14/11/2024 08:55

TypoQueen1, welcome on board! Yes, it's fairly straightforward, just a bit faffy, as you have to open Word documents and upload the files. Accuro has its own transcription software (opens automatically), so there's no need for anything else.

I hope you get on okay.

cezza111 · 19/11/2024 09:33

Signed up over a week ago, waiting for work. What time do the jobs get added to your task list and do they email you to let you know. Thank you for any advice.
