Microsoft teams - team building/bonding fun game suggestion

chorusline79 · 09/01/2023 10:51

Hi,
Does anyone have any suggestions for a fun session on teams for a team game please?

I've googled but not inspired!

Needs to be around 10 mins, with no prep beforehand for team members. There are around 6-7 of us so no breakout rooms.
Simple is fine! Any ideas very gratefully appreciated as I am having a blank....

Not perhaps helpful for you, but can you reconsider.

'Games' on teams are never fun.

It's a toe cringing horror.

Please reconsider and perhaps have a simple 'introduce yourself type segment. Without any need for 'fun facts' or other hideousness

chorusline79 · 09/01/2023 11:32

Unfortunately I've been told I need to do this!
It doesn't have to be work related but just something to fill 10 mins. I wouldn't be doing it if I had the choice believe me!

Agree. These things make me want to curl up in horror.

percypal · 09/01/2023 11:33

Could you come up with some way to play ‘who am I?’ on Teams?

lookingforanewjob23 · 09/01/2023 11:34

If it doesn't have to be job-related...

Will everyone be at home?

I'm thinking the 'bring me' game? My colleagues did it one time.

Bring me a pen/teaspoon/toothbrush etc. Ended on 'bring me a duvet' which caused a few laughs Smile

SquishyGloopyBum · 09/01/2023 11:34

Just do a pub quiz type thing.

HappyHolidai · 09/01/2023 11:37

3 "facts" about me, spot the lie (or the truth). Go around the "room".

Rainbowshine · 09/01/2023 11:37

Cringe! I would do a work related quiz for this, so everyone has an equal chance of knowing the answers and doesn’t have to talk/perform.

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 09/01/2023 11:38

My idea of horror, who thinks there's any benefit in this type of thing?

Iheartmysmart · 09/01/2023 11:39

I usually despise stuff like this but did one just before Christmas where everyone had to come up with two truths and a lie. The team got to ask questions then had to vote on the lie. It was quite funny.

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 09/01/2023 11:39

Kahoot?

Rainbowshine · 09/01/2023 12:13

ple don’t do 2 truths and a lie, it’s totally non inclusive and people with neuro diversity find it completely bewildering.

latetothefisting · 09/01/2023 12:20

Agree 2 truths and a lie is horrendous.

If you have to do something a lighthearted kahoot quiz is probably the least awful - something everyone has an equal chance on, like news of 2022 or random facts whatever.

chorusline79 · 09/01/2023 12:21

@AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair my boss unfortunately!

Kahoot quizzes?

chorusline79 · 09/01/2023 12:23

I'll have a look at kahoot - thanks all, hadn't seen these

Mumof1andacat · 09/01/2023 12:23

I hate teams. Keep it simple with a quiz

chorusline79 · 09/01/2023 12:24

@lookingforanewjob23 we did this at the Christmas one and it was actually really good fun - had 5 mins to collect 10 different objects

OP posts:
igor · 09/01/2023 12:25

We do kahoot and scattergories. Sometimes riddles also - not revealing any personal information so not embarrassing

LlynTegid · 09/01/2023 12:26

Oh dear my internet has gone down just at the start time of this 'game'.

If they are in London or nearby, how about a game of Mornington Crescent?

theemmadilemma · 09/01/2023 12:26

Don't know about 10 mins, maybe if you do one round, but we play this at least once a month on my team meeting (all remote) with video on for reactions. It's genuinely hilarious, everyone enjoys it:

Figmentofimagination · 09/01/2023 12:37

Pictionary using the whiteboard on teams?

TwinkleCrows · 09/01/2023 12:37

You can play eye spy, where the spy-er chooses something that can be seen on their camera (easy version) or something that can't (harder, but also funnier)

You can also do the vicars cat (player 1 'the vicars cat is a (a word, eg angry) cat' player 2 'the vicars cat is a (b word, eg boring) cat' or play I went to the supermarket (player 1 buys something beginning with A, player two remembers the A word, and adds a B...)

You don't need to be in London to play Mornington Crescent - just share a copy of the Tube map with anyone who might not know many stations.

figmaofmyimagination · 09/01/2023 12:42

Pub quiz, scavenger hunt or everyone brings a square of paper and you talk them through making an origami swan are some of the less awful ones I’ve been subjected to.
