Local library looking for relief assistants (so not regular hours, just here and there). I've done the job before so no worries on that score, but as I'm still b/fing ds2 I won't be available for long periods, so I am hoping that they will still consider me!

Good luck Miaou, I would love a job like that .

Miaou · 19/09/2007 22:41

Thanks tanee - shameless bump for more luck-wishing

Oh, good luck miaou - you'll shine through, I'm sure.

Marina · 19/09/2007 22:48

May your date stamp be freshly inked!

Good luck Miaou XXX

berolina · 19/09/2007 22:49

Good luck!

(am not a librarian but would like to be one )

bookthief · 19/09/2007 22:49

Fingers crossed!

Marina · 19/09/2007 22:51

We will all get the train up there with our lightpens and scythe them down Jedi Knight style if they have the temerity not to offer you the job (and if that doesn't scare them I'll come and garrotte them with my Denise Interchangeables)

marthamoo · 19/09/2007 22:55

Oh it's only having your hair in a bun, wearing glasses and saying "shhhhh!"

Marina · 19/09/2007 22:57

Look, the profession has moved on loads since your day missy

Marina · 19/09/2007 22:57

I do infomapping and knowledge management you know zzzzzzzzzz

Miaou · 19/09/2007 22:59

lol you lot!

Thanks for the good wishes - will let you know how I get on tomorrow

OP posts:
marthamoo · 20/09/2007 09:27

I'm sure I could do infomapping and knowledge management if only I knew what they were...

Keeping my fingers crossed for you today, Miaou.

Marina · 20/09/2007 09:56

I'm sure you could too Moo. For most chalk-face librarians these are known as the "no-shit sherlock" professional tasks . Wish I'd thought of writing a book about them
Best of luck today Miaou XXX

Miaou · 20/09/2007 14:58

Good luck vibes obviously worked!! I got the job!!

Have to go through Disclosure Scotland first so it will be a while before I can start though .

OP posts:
bookthief · 20/09/2007 15:36

Hurrah!! Congratulations. BTW, sometimes the Disclosure checks are pretty quick depending on how many they're dealing with at that time, I think they get gummed up when the student teachers all have to be done for placements. My last one came through in 2 weeks. (Then the HR deparment delayed my start by a further 6 weeks by losing my Occupational Health form and not telling me.. but there you go. )

Marina · 20/09/2007 15:38

Ace, well done

berolina · 20/09/2007 15:41

fab!

niceglasses · 20/09/2007 15:43

Ohh all the very best.

Am trying myself, got couple of job apps in for Uni Library. Did try council but of the two I applied for the post was 'frozen'...or maybe they are just saying that.........

Anyway, lettuce know how you get on. Give 'em Hell.

niceglasses · 20/09/2007 15:44

Oh, am being dim. Very well done. Pleased for you.....

Tanee58 · 20/09/2007 16:24

Congratulations Miaou, very envious, you surrounded by books and in such a lovely part of the country. .

marthamoo · 20/09/2007 18:38

Oh well done you! Your sssshhhhhing must have been particularly good

Miaou · 20/09/2007 21:04

cousinsandra · 20/09/2007 21:07

oooh, I just got the same job here. 10 hours a week in local library - I can't flipping wait! I am still waiting for the CRB check to come through though. I'm really hoping I get to say 'ssshhh' a lot and be obeyed, unlike at home....

Marina · 20/09/2007 21:49

Don't build your hopes up cousinsandra

cerys · 20/09/2007 21:53

Well done Miaou! I am a librarian but am currently a SAHM.
I actually wish they would say Shhhh a bit more at my local library....
