Really quick question! Should I.... yes or no?

I had a job interview last week and they seemed very keen and said they would let me know for definite by the end of the week.

Not heard yet.

Now normally I bide my time but I am impatient and they were so positive that they would let me know quickly.

Should I call the HR dept and see what's happening? Or not...

You decide!

No I don't think I've got it either.

Should I call them though and have a chat about putting me forward for the other one, get feedback and so on? Rather than just applying online?

Maybe I should wait til monday before I do anything.

I just wish they'd put me out of my misery!

Now DH held up at work bugger.

You all have been here I'm sure, I feel silly really because

I know really that I haven't got it
But I can't help hoping that I might have still got it and they are just taking their time
And I know I should just wait to hear and not hassle them
But they said they'd let me know last week, then early this week, and I just want an answer

Balls

If anyone is still here Grin

I called them again (HR dept) and they looked and said that they still haven't been told the outcome of the interviews so as far as they know no decision has been made.

I would get on and apply for the other job in the usual manner. You can always withdraw if you get the first job.

lovecorrie · 26/08/2011 16:46

It is sooooo frustrating when they do this isn't it? Although the job I have now, the guy phoned first thing the next morning when i was out - that's the fastest i've ever known!

SardineQueen · 26/08/2011 18:49

I had a call once on the way to the tube station about 15 mins after the interview! It was a really good job too.

This lot could take a leaf out of their book Hmm Grin

I used to work for a recruitment co. so not quite HR, but we would not tell candidates they hadn't got the job until the preferred candidate had accepted & signed contract etc. Often something went wrong & the 2nd choice got the job and never knew they were 2nd choice. Not saying that has happened here but it could be a reason for the delay, at least if they haven't said no you are still in with a chance.

Good luck & hope next week brings good news!

SardineQueen · 26/08/2011 19:37

Yes I think something like that might well be happening 23balloons.

And now it's bank holiday weekend!!!

any update on this OP

SardineQueen · 30/08/2011 17:32

Nope, nothing.

Going to give it til Friday and call them.
Going to apply for the other job in the meantime.

I'm sure I haven't got it but I just want to know and of course in the back of my mind it still goes "maybe, maybe I've got it"... You know how it is
