For me and dd. Actually, dses as well, why not?
Does anyone know of any good t-shirts etc with feminist slogans on?

Right, have ordered from the CafePress site:
for me - 'Feminism: calling out bullshit where we see it since 1792' and
'Smash patriarchy'.

For dd aged 4, one which says 'I'm not a diva, I'm not a princess, I'm not a brat, I'm a smart capable girl, get used to it.' (rather a lot of text IMO but she thought it was cool).

For ds2 aged 6 months, 'Mommy's little feminist'. Yes I know it's wrong but I couldn't help myself

I was going to get ds1 'Feminist in training' but it all just added up to too much . DH will have to do without the 'This is what a feminist looks like' one I nearly got him, too.

I really really wanted 'Fuck your fascist beauty standards' but practicality ruled as I'm not sure how that would go down on the school run.

Fascinated by how many Sarah Palin ones there are.... she was really trying to appeal to the feminist vote wasn't she?!

thanks again for all the tips.

I should add: much more fun than ordering flowery tops from Boden.

Ooh, good for you BG. I'm off to look at that site.

Do you talk about feminism to your kids? If so how? I can't quite explain it at my DDs' level yet (4 and 6).

msrisotto · 25/03/2010 15:39

So much stuff on that site! Love it!

What's the reference to coat hangers about though?
One sticker says:
Keep abortion legal or start investing in coat hangers - am I being deliberately naive here?

BadGardener · 25/03/2010 15:50

that would be a reference to backstreet abortions being carried out with coathangers.

The level at which I have discussed feminism with dd is along the lines of 'people used to think women weren't as good/clever as men. Isn't that silly?'

God, I was desperately trying not to come to that conclusion! What a message.

Anyway, P+P on that site ain't cheap. I want two "This is what a feminist looks like" things and it's come to £40!

BadGardener · 25/03/2010 16:08

the abortion ones are pretty graphic on both sides - did you see the one that said 'abortion doesn't mean you're not a mother, it means you're the mother of a dead baby'?

Mm, that's good BG - pretty much identical to what I say about racism (DDs are mixed race and have seen Hairspray ). Sexism has tended to rear its head more in a contemporary context (e.g. explaining why I don't like the Tweenies ) which I find harder as they have yet to grasp the concept of adult fallibility ...

msrisotto · 25/03/2010 16:13

faaarcking hell bg! Horrid.

SolidGoldBrass · 25/03/2010 20:42

I've now added to my range: Bored With The Patriarchy, Bored With Sexism, Bored With Your Ignorance and Feminists Have Better Sex.

MyGoldenNotebook · 30/03/2010 07:53

ooh I'd love a 'Feminists Have Better Sex' one

msrisotto · 01/04/2010 13:59

My "This is what a Feminist looks like" T-shirt and tote bag arrived today - they're excellent
