Ooh hello BadGardener!

T-Shirts from Fawcett Society

anti-playboy stuff (I have a badge and it gets noticed, ooh, every time i go out)

PinkStinks I'm no princess t-shirts etc

Will that do for now?

allegrageller · 22/03/2010 22:49

there is this 'This is what a feminist looks like' T-shirt which a couple of my colleagues have, will ask where they got it...

That's the Fawcett Society one. I've got one, it's very snug worn over a long-sleeved thin top from H&M

allegrageller · 22/03/2010 22:58

I also saw this fabulous one somewhere with the slogan 'my marxist-feminist dialectic brings all the boys to the yard' - will try to find :D

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 22/03/2010 23:25

oooh I love that one! thanks for the link

SolidGoldBrass · 22/03/2010 23:28

If anyone wants their own feminist slogan on a badge, do CAT me as I have a badgemaking machine and make badges to sell anyway.

I won't knowingly reproduce a copyright slogan without clearing it with the copyright holder though...

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 22/03/2010 23:30

OOh, how much SGB? I'm not a CAT person

wastingaway · 23/03/2010 00:11

Ooh, where do you sell your badges SGB?
I love badges.

allegrageller · 23/03/2010 09:03

sgb you need to link us to some pics of your badges- I presume all good feminist leftie stuff? :D

BadGardener · 23/03/2010 09:43

Thank you sisters, I knew you would come up trumps

Am contemplating with a wry smile how difficult it would be to force dd into a 'I'm no princess' t-shirt

DH may be getting a 'This is what a feminist looks like' one as a surprise present.

Those 'One Angry Girl' ones are incredible - 'Fuck your fascist beauty standards' - swoon!

Will remember your badge-making machine, SGB, for when inspiration strikes.

My badges are of all sorts, not specifically or exclusively feminist - that;s why I said I have the amchine and can make up stuff to other people's specs. You can check out my www.decadentmedia-uk.com website though it is not 100% work or small-child safe (no rude pictures but several rude words) - the full range of badges is not on the site as it's huge and constantly changing.
However any of you in or near South London could come and see me at Stuff in the near future...

SolidGoldBrass · 23/03/2010 10:18

I do already have a line of badges called 'Bored' with slogans like 'Bored with Facebook' or 'Bored with Celebrity Culture'.
I am now going to add 'Bored with the Patriarchy' and 'Bored with Sexism' (oh, and while I'm at it, I might consider Bored With Bigotry as well)

BadGardener · 23/03/2010 10:43

I like your 'Bored' ones SGB - and those would be good additions.
'Bored with MySpace' has probably had its moment - 'Bored with Twitter' maybe.

OP posts:
SolidGoldBrass · 23/03/2010 11:15

Thanks BG Bored With Twitter will go into the pot as well.

SkaterGrrrrl · 23/03/2010 11:58

Object has resources (leaflets, petitions etc) for their feminist Fridays:

www.object.org.uk/files/Feminist%20Fridays%20Action%20Pack(8).pdf

allegrageller · 23/03/2010 14:43

right SGB going to have to get one of your 'temporarily possessed, please excuse anything I do' keyrings...you should do that ona car sticker!

I am in S London, where is Stuff? Would love to come and have a quick chat at some point. xx

SolidGoldBrass · 23/03/2010 16:36

It's in Croydon - the building that used to be Beanos. I will be having a stall in there on Thursdays, probably from next week onwards

overmydeadbody · 23/03/2010 17:50

Cafe-Press is my place of choice for t-shirts, badges, posters etc, as they have suh a huge collection of stuff designed by so many different people.

a small selection

overmydeadbody · 23/03/2010 17:58

Warning: not all the slogans are actually feminist ones though

BadGardener · 23/03/2010 18:29

Thanks OMDB, they rock!
Apart from the anti-abortion ones, obviously.

Shame that neither Jackie Fleming or Cartoon Kate do t-shirts, they have some good postcards though here and here

BadGardener · 23/03/2010 20:16

thanks Takver - that link was a lovely Jacky Fleming nostalgia trip & I'd never come across Cartoon Kate before - gorgeous! That 'Food of Love' book would make a top present for a pregnant friend.
