The Horror of Katseye

If you haven't come across Katseye and this post means you see one of their videos I apologise. The songs are ear worms the videos are sex shows.

They are young girls themselves that have been groomed into this industry. They are then, in turn, grooming vast numbers of children. It is a trail of bread crumbs to Only Fans and the like.

Their videos also present drug taking as sexy and cool and have trans content that is kind of an extension of all the dressing up as sex objects.

They are wildly commercial and have many partnerships with companies that sell children's products: TicTac, Mattel, Lush, Gap.

I'll stop now but I could write a book on all the wrongness of Katseye. My daughter's friend went to the concert in Dublin and was thinking that she would be surrounded by teenagers but found that actually there were loads of children in the 3Arena, some as young as six.

You can watch Hootie Fruttie or Pinky Up or Animal or Gnarly YouTube.

This is the music and dance that is forming the idea of what it means to be girl today.

Don't worry. The majority agree with you so you can keep the porn-inspired raunchy dance moves for kids to absorb by osmosis.

My kids will be fine, as will yours but 'the horror' is millions of under 10s, many who won't be, who don't live in homes where they are well-minded who are learning how to move and fix their gaze and walk and talk in a way that is mimicking Katseye who are mimicking the pornography industry.

Katseye and products like theirs are a catalyst for a dissolution of childhood for many, many vulnerable children. It would be wonderful if we could remove the evidence of the sculpting of the porn industry in young peoples lives just by changing the 'overdramatic' language in my post but the evidence of the reports on porn that I have posted and the numbers of girls who are being exploited tell a different story.

It is a horror.

I've made my point about it being inappropriate for children several times. You seem to struggle to read that part of my comments. Interesting.

No. Just free to make the choice. But I'm entitled to think you're a mug if it looks like that to me.

You're entitled to think whatever you like. It doesn't make you right.

No, I understood that. I read it and understood that you think Katseye is inappropriate for children.

But it doesn't matter what you or I think is appropriate or inappropriate: Katseye is marketed to children. Children are the big market. This is the cultural world girls live in.

Also, an awful lot of people don't have a problem with that. The majority of people in the UK and Ireland are chillin'.

This band is a product with huge corporate marketing and targeting behind them, and they are aimed at teen girls.

'n mid-2025, Katseye leaned into their gothic-glam side with a Monster High partnership that felt like both nostalgia and reinvention. They remixed “Fright Song” , the original 2010 earworm, gave it polish, power and new choreography.
The dolls are an added highlight: each member got a one-of-a-kind Monster High doll styled to match their real-life aesthetic from Daniela’s curls and Lara’s details to Sophia’s signature touches. The video leans into special effects: fang moulds, body paint, extensions, almost monster-like makeup that’s fierce instead of frightening.'

'The discussion of the sexualization of the KATSEYE members has only grown this year as “Pinky Up” and the group’s Coachella performances drew a greater wave of backlash than before. It is clear that HxG has been planning to shift KATSEYE’s image towards “sexy”, and that decision must be questioned when they are also aware of and actively cultivating this child audience.
Gui Gui is only one example.
There was the Toca Boca collaboration, an in-game event providing character customization items and music on the children’s mobile game platform.
There was the 2025 Kids’ Choice Awards at which the , the controversial — and highly successful — song that featured twerking choreography and moaning audio plucked from actual pornography.
There was the “” remake, an official collaboration with Mattel where KATSEYE sang the original theme song of Monster High, the doll and media franchise.
There was the members’ August 11th appearance on where they taught third-graders the dance to their song “Animal”. This track is on the same new EP as “Hootie Frutti” and contains lyrics such as: “Your body gets twisted and tangled in mine / Love so good, how could this be free?” and “Be careful what you’re wishing for ’cause I get freaky”.'

From that link above:

'The concept of sexualizing children or children’s products and media is not new. Society is aware that this disturbing activity happens. Unfortunately, there needs to be more vigilance around it after the nonexistent response to the Epstein files proved further that children are not being protected.
There are predators all over the entertainment industry. Some go as far as to argue the industry is controlled by predators. HYBE x Geffen’s partnership choices are feeding into this before our very eyes. The companies on the other side of KATSEYE’s brand deals cannot remain unchallenged.'

Sorry, did I say 'teen'. I mean 'six year old' girls.

Slime is not marketed at teenagers.

Thanks ArabellaScott for all the examples how Katseye is marketed to children ... relentlessly. Because children are where the money is at and children think they are cool. Why wouldn't they? With no parents or teachers or friends to say the Katseye product isn't cool they are left mesmerised by absolute rubbish. Katseye are so uncool! Perhaps I should have entitled this Katseye are not Cool.
