Talks about JKR's views on trans rights (not women's rights) and of course lists all the actors who have denounced her. It's so tiresome.

The article the Guardian links to to explain JKR's views is interesting. It's six years old, so pre-FWS. It's pretty clunky but it attempts some kind of balance in portraying "both sides"s views.

Yes- it attempted more balance than I expected. But, like the HP article, ended on a JKR-is-the-bogeyman note.

Are the two actually linked? From what I read in the news he stepped back because of scheduling conflicts.

I'd prefer it to also be 'Celebrity author who hopes we've forgotten she hired and defended a violent domestic abuser' but there you go.

Some people have speculated that the scheduling issues was used as an excuse because he was getting so much grief from TRAs. Maybe he genuinely did have a scheduling clash. TRAs seem to hate him now either way.

Mind you, maybe it will make more people aware of how uncontroversial her views are, given that the majority of the public agree with her.

Oh that's bizarre.

It's because she speaks the truth in the face of fantasies (that that you share) which makes her such a hero.
And in an age with so many scared witless to openly be truthful, that makes her one of the biggest heros of the age.

Lego announced their updated theme and all anyone could mention was "trans", the "millions" of trans people that have died and removal of "trans rights". (Yet don't expect anyone to back any of that up with data). And yet Lego keep producing more toys because people keep buying the stuff.

The same goes with Hogwarts Legacy computer game, the development team tried to get the project shut down. Game got released, sales performed even better, and sequel got announced.

Ooh which minority is she attacking? It can’t be transpeople, as they’re not a minority. TIF are females, so 51% of the population, and TIM are make, which I grant you at 49%, is a slight minority, but I wouldn’t call it a huge gap. So who is she attacking?

I didn't follow it at the time, but I think Depp was already in one of the fantastic beasts films when the allegations arose, and fans were unhappy that jkr didn't replace him?

I don’t think JKR has ever said anything about trans rights. I’m sure she agrees they are human rights. I think she’s had a lot to say about women’s rights to single sex spaces and a word to give themselves.
