Ireland: Belong To & Cass Review

I looked up the Belong To website so see what they said about the Cass Review. They state in April 2024 that

Belong To will conduct an analysis of the Cass Review to better inform our understanding of care for trans young people.

Have they done that yet? Their statement about Cass is highly misleading.
And many more schools are signing up to the BelongTo Quality Mark.

Would be good if there was some media questioning of all of this in light of the breastfeeding madness that has made it into the news. You go down this path and have this in schools and this is where you get to... (Norway, Iceland, strange man at breastfeeding conference)

People in Ireland need to pipe up about this. I can't believe my kids are surrounded by this dangerous propaganda.

Children and schools are relentlessly targeted by trans extremists. It's how the dangerous behaviour that puts children at risk often gets a free pass. Once the young without the life experience and critical thinking skills sign up to this, anything goes.

Unfortunately Ireland is asleep at the wheel. The NGOs hold incredible power over the government. MSM mostly just does the governments bidding.

Gript is one of the only media sources actually taking this on, but it’s all too easy to dismiss them as right wing cranks. If other media brands did their jobs there would be no need for Gript, but alas, this is where we are.

There may be chinks of light though. Ellis O’Hanlon is not afraid to call stuff out. The tabloids are starting to. Newstalk and particularly Ciara Kelly don’t completely toe the line.

I’m not sure what can be done as an individual, and I know you’ve been interested in this before. Maybe contact your TD about Belong To and your concerns - you may just get shut down though. Raise it with the school. It’s difficult because ordinary people know so little about it and I suspect often don’t want to know more.

I know, it just seems so stupid because if you went and asked everyone in Ireland door to door what they thought you would get totally straightforward sound answers about all of this (by and large) and yet...

What about a kind of Gin Lane Hogarth print with chest-feeding men and S&M gender identity instruction for children such as they have in Iceland. Maybe that would wake people up?

I will try your suggestions and contact the school and try to hint that BelongTo might be misleading. I mean, it is misleading, but nobody likes to be told something too definitively.

Perhaps a fresh school year is a good time for action and the tide is turning. People are busy, they just need to have it laid out for them.

I would love to see a day when every single rainbow flag is removed from schools. Belong To should have no place in schools. They are pushing gender ideology under the guise of anti-bullying and even sneaking in questionable reading material like that book that Norma Foley refused to comment on "What's the T'.
In my kids old educate together school, they were taught in classes about 'sexuality' and all the different 'genders' you can be from the age of 6 and were teaching kids that you can be born in the wrong body. When I objected I was told it was standard teaching practise in line with the department of education guidelines . I'm not sure if this is true but the principal felt safe enough that she'd get away with it.

Parents need to wake up and take this seriously and start demanding changes from the department of education and challenging this damaging narrative. A whole generation is being indoctrinated.
Hopefully the tide is turning and more people will speak out.

I don't even think this long long list of quality mark schools (approx 100) that have the accreditation is complete because I just looked up a school that is not on there and it has it too.

So perhaps we are talking one eighth of all the secondary schools in Ireland that are signed up (770 schools approx in the whole country) and who knows how many are taking part in the accreditation process?
This is happening post Cass and if they are being misleading about the Cass Review or not mentioning it in the teacher training then that is a worry. Social transition is not a neutral act.
