I am not a Trans Rights Activist. I believe that women have a right to single-sex spaces that don't include transwomen. I wrote my post in defence of Jon Ronson.
Graham Linehan accused Jon Ronson of ignoring important facts to do with Michfest. Linehan wants people to believe that the three people who were murdered were murdered because of their beliefs, beliefs that the murderer found unacceptable.
Ann Widdecombe was murdered by a man who didn't know her and who travelled across country to get to her. He murdered her because he couldn't accept her political beliefs.
In the case of Dana Rivers, he knew the women he murdered socially. They lived in the same vicinity. They were members of the same motorcycle club. We will probably never know the full reason why Dana Rivers committed the murders, someone who is obviously mentally ill doesn't need a reason, but as far as we can tell it was because he was an enforcer in the club and he believed that they had transgressed some rule.
Jon Ronson was quite right not to mention these murders in the context of Michfest. It's possible that he was not aware of these murders, there are a lot of murders in America, you can't keep track of all of them.
Graham Linehan obviously feels that if you are not with him then you are against him. If you don't go along with what he says then you are the enemy. If you criticise him then you must be TRA. Even if the criticism is that you've got your facts wrong.
