Polycule falls apart

I expect people remember that Heather Herbert (charged in relation to social media comments he made after Ann Widdecombe's death) is in a polycule with Sophie Molly (aka Sparkles, aka Euan Weddell) and someone called Poppybear.

Molly, I believe, is a witness for Jolyon Maugham in Sarah Phillimore's libel case against Maugham.

Poppybear has been posting some very indiscreet posts on BlueSky about both Molly and Herbert, and it looks, tragically, as if the polycule has fallen apart.

According to Poppybear, Herbert's comments about Widdecombe "painted a bullseye on all of us", and led to the police coming in and "invading" all their devices (whatever that means).

Also according to Poppybear, living with Sophie Molly is "like being permanently slapped around the face by pathological laziness unless it's something that grooms her ego."

Oh dear.

In a separate development, apparently Herbert has had his toxic kidney removed by the NHS so the money donated to the fundraiser is going to be used for something else:

The sibling rivalry is definitely a thing. I know a family of 3 boys and a girl. The girl is the golden child, you’d almost think the others didn’t exist as far as the mother is concerned.
One of the boys is now a ‘girl’ and is using a longer version of his sisters name (if she’s called Fran, he’s called Francesca as an example).

Im guessing these guys never actually liked each other but have gravitated towards each other as some freaky support system.

There's a certain celebrity couple with 2 or 3 girls and the brother now seems to present himself like the girls and is NB apparently

I do hope someone is archiving these

That does often seem to be a central tene(n)t of such things…

Lalgarh · 09/08/2026 12:03

It's also definitely a thing much more common in media / celebrity families. I guess all that scrutiny.

I'm sure that someone who has litigation pending is.

It kinda takes away from the premise of the claim if true. I'm sure the DM will be happy to oblige and confirm if true. I mean... More clickbait.

It’s turning into quite the Revenge play.

The man I know who transitioned has exactly this family dynamic. The sole girl of four siblings was very clearly favoured by their mother.

Lalgarh · 09/08/2026 12:54

I worked with one tw who transitioned after their sister committed suicide

While i feel very sorry for those who have lost their sisters, there's a touch of the Norman Bates about their reaction to it.

Was wondering if harrop was still around..

Sorry i was meant to quote there, I didn't just drop an unrelated post in the middle of a thread!

"Sophie is the most emotionally abusive person I've met since my big sister"

Aiiiiiieeee.

And Molly is supposed to have lost a sister to an eating disorder? A lot of trauma around the actual women in their life

I assumed her "emotional abuse" was being pissed off at him stealing her underwear tbh. She should have, of course, tried to understand and bekind to poor little Poppy who was going through so much pain and trauma. Or summat.

I'd offer heather good luck for her upcoming trial, but she got me arrested for being in a serious mental health episode largely brought on by the police raid after I nearly died twice from an overdose and part of the bail conditions is I'm not allowed to talk to her 🤷 that and not deserving it... 🤔

Edited

In my case the straw that broke the camel's back was the company my brother keep and the abusive behaviour dished out to my then boyfriend (now husband). All because they thought he was transphobic before did or said anything or even knew! He hadn't even met these people and they were already labelled DH as transphobic! It was utterly nuts. It was prejudice.

I'm sure it's because DH ticked all the right boxes for being masculine and was like the son my Dad probably would have liked. And I was the daughter my brother would have liked to have been. So we were both utterly doomed and nothing we could have done would have been good enough.

I'm sure he'd call me emotionally abusive for not putting up with that. I wouldn't have put up with it if he hadn't have been trans. At the time I was still processing it all and not being unsupportive. Quite the opposite. I was the model sister offering help.

Looks like ‘ Heather’ won’t be at court this week after all due to the kidney operation

Polyculipolycula · 10/08/2026 16:53

Every time I read "polycule" I get an earworm so thought I'd try out a new user name.

I know of two familes this has happened to

One family,5 boys, mum desperate for a daughter (and made it very clear to them as they grew up)

(One of these is my dds ex)

3 of the 5 boys are desperate to 'become' girls are are at various stages of making it 'happen' (all on female hormones and 2 have had operations the other two are very low contact)

They've all gone by the names they would have been called if they'd been girls

The other,2 boys (again mum wanted girls and made it clear having boys was 'disappointing' and she really wanted a girl but dad doesnt seem bothered)

Both are very feminine (they look like that they are-men in drag) and one talks in that breathy 'baby' voice they all seem to put on

No name changes with this family

They are all really lovely men but are all fucked up and unhappy because they where never 'good enough' simply because they are boys/men

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 10/08/2026 17:31

Poor kids.

I'm a boy, I'm a boy
But my ma won't admit it
I'm a boy, I'm a boy
But if I say I am I get it

EveryoneIsPointingNow · 10/08/2026 19:07

That's heartbreaking @Optimisticdramalarma . I wonder if their parents (mums) have any inkling, or would ever admit even to themselves, that their obvious disappointment in the children's sex have directly led their sons to take such drastic and damaging steps.

In India and china there is obvious and glaring son preference. I'm not aware of increases in girls adopting male gender identity, but there is supposedly a medical centre in India that treats female toddlers whose mothers took meds supposed to guarantee a boy that left their daughters with assorted deformities

It really is heartbreaking

I have sons myself and I bloody adore them-not what's between their legs

Nah,neither mum seems to see the damage they've done (and the dad's who just seem to go along with it,ive heard 'just keep your mother happy' muttered more than once)

They are just delighted to have a 'dd' to go shopping with, bond over pink and share a love of hair and make up

It's so bloody sickening and sad-they are all lovely boys who had so much to give but have been reduced to this crap just for their mothers approval

EveryoneIsPointingNow · 10/08/2026 19:22

JFC, to the last two posts. There are just no words.

anyolddinosaur · 10/08/2026 19:29

In India female babies are still aborted The sex ratio at birth is 106.7 boys per 100 girls. This ratio has been declining since 2010, when it peaked at 109.6 boys per 100 girls. Uk ratio is 105 and hasnt changed since 1980. For years women here were not told the sex of their foetus in case Indian women aborted the female ones. It would have been racial discrimination if white women were allowed to know so no-one could.
