New thread. You know the deal - women's pub, men to the Staunch Ally next door.

Some of us are currently on the trail of an international seed smuggling ring, just for background information.

Yours too, @FuzzyPuffling. I’d emailed to thank her for not signing, too… obviously too early!

My original post ( about safety etc) now has 62 likes and one laugh...that from a bloke whose profile shows him in head to toe black pvc. He's quite a fat bloke too, so that's a lot of plastic!

MarieDeGournay · 09/06/2026 21:25

I was almost convinced by 'a bra is a strip of material'... but the straps! how do you account for the straps!
No, sorry, it's sorcery and that's that!😁

Once the back is undone there’s enough slack to get them over the elbow and it’s easy after that.

EdithStourton · 09/06/2026 22:06

Magpiecomplex · 09/06/2026 17:44

My bra stays on from morning till night so I never have any need to take it off while leaving my top in-situ. But I will readily admit that I'm close to the top end of the cup size scale at a JJ. I would be in extreme discomfort without a bra.

JJ? Bloody hell!
I think I topped out at about an F or G when b/feeding. I felt like Dolly Parton, and it was a bit weird if I went out without the baby, because all these blokes were suddenly fixated by my norks. If I had the baby, I was almost invisible.

Not very evolved sometimes, the male of the species.

Euwwww.
<shudders>

(i know we're all supposed to be open-minded and all that, but I can't inagine anyone looking good in black PVC.)

Just done it.

  1. Unclip the back. More points if you can do it one-handed.
  2. Reach through the sleeve with the opposite hand from the cuff end.
  3. Pull the strap off your shoulder and through the sleeve over your hand.
  4. The bra is now essentially hanging off the other shoulder.
  5. Lift up your top to pull the bra away from the norks if necessary.
  6. Reach through the other sleeve with opposite hand from the cuff end.
  7. Pull the strap off your shoulder and through your sleeve over your hand.
  8. Pull the whole bra either through the sleeve or from under your top.

This is my 34G (UK size) bra, just removed. The straps are part of the single strip of material.

😂Excellent! I thought everyone did it this way, too!

Ah now I get it!💡
I couldn't understand getting out of the straps, but now I get it thank you Myrtle.
So not sorcery, after all.

I tend to always stick to the same style of clothes. Jeans or combats, long sleeved top and fuck-off very chunky DM boots. Quite pirate like.

I remember the worm that turned. I’ve brought it up in pub chats with the overbearing types a few times over the years. Just to see them go pale at the thought.

So far so piratical, but do you top the outfit off with a bandana or with a tricorn hat, Swash?Grin

Happy to help. And the bra removal scene in Flashdance is brilliant as well as educational.

Chickadeeinme · 10/06/2026 03:26

I have a couple of bras that fasten at the front (not old nursing bras as it’s been 39 years since I breastfed a baby) and those are actually very comfortable so I don’t think about them until I’m getting undressed to go to bed.

EmpressaurusKitty · 10/06/2026 06:43

I wear M&S bralettes, a bit like sports bras. They’re very comfy but no fastenings, I just pull them over my head.

I have these too and agree they are comfy. On me, they have a tendency to rise up- I suspect the straps are a tad too short for me.

Good morning! There's a window in the sky between clouds and rain, with the most glorious sunshine, finally! I'm hoping it holds off long enough for me to get some laundry done, and for me to go for a walk.

Another viewing on Friday, too, although I'm compromising hugely with this one. Do I really want to live next door to someone who has a caravan, a boat, and what looks like two motorcycles (just what I've gathered from the pictures)?

EmpressaurusKitty · 10/06/2026 09:12

I’ve just been for an induction at the newly opened gym at the top of my road.

They have everything my current gym has, only newer & nicer, plus a big women’s workout space (confirmed that it’s sex not gender), mini saunas & massage guns. Plus a half price offer for the first six months.

I’m moving. So are quite a few other women I know.

@AngleofRepose, I know the people selling the house aren’t going to be honest about the neighbours but is there any way you could meet them before deciding?

Me too, or similar which is why that removal-without-taking-off-outer clothing was so mystifying to me🤔

Angle, I'd be a bit wary of a lot of engine revving next door... but it might be different in real life, you'll see on Friday.

We have some sunshine here too at last - it's been like November for the past few days, and of course the scheduled work on my house hasn't started because of wind and driving rain🙄

Of course wind and driving rain to be expected: it is June, and the phrase 'Flaming June, eh?' plus eyeroll in response to a downpour is as hard-wired into humans as the obligatory
'You missed a bit!'
to someone painting a fence, or the unavoidable
'You can start on mine next!'
to someone washing a car..Grin

I could perhaps walk past a few times today and tomorrow, but it's a cul-de-sac, so someone might call the cops! (it's that kind of area) 😆

Did you mean you are moving house as well, or moving to a new gym?

Yes, engine revving, endless discussions about boats every time I'm trying to get out of the house to do something, endlessly "working " on said boat and motorcycles... We'll see. But I am wondering now why they are selling.😐

I'm being defeatist.

DeanElderberry · 10/06/2026 09:49

The pub where the coffee morning ladies meet for tea has re-opened and is offering breakfast, so we are going to try that, which is exciting. No idea how they'll manage the no-wheat thing, but they did offer excellent gluten-free scones so I live in hope.

Boiledbeetle · 10/06/2026 10:44

Bugger. Today's random box of stuff to sort will result in nothing being evicted.

Although maybe I should get the capybaras to build me a display case in the pub billiards room for my 'collection'.

They are definitely the right colour for the Bluestocking!

I suspect I shall just look at them for a bit then shove them all in a better box than the one they came out of and move them into the loft.

At least it's only a small box that is required.

Great, now the cat has come to assist

I have to sort a cupboard out on Sunday & I’m hoping Kitty wont bother to come & assist.

Just moving gym, @AngleofRepose. I’m not planning to ever move house again unless I absolutely have to.

If it's only a little box, I think you should humour yourself on this impressive - and very blue💙- collection, you're doing brilliantly in general.
Capability Capybara is gathering up her tools to make that display case, even as we speakSmile

I remember when the much-hyped sci-fi epic 'Avatar' was released, somebody rather cruelly referred to it as 'Smurfs in Space'😂

Bar gerbils, a large rum please, I've been looking everywhere for you all and I'm exhausted now!

Does anyone have any suggestions for websites selling terfy stuff? I have Birdy Rose and LWS websites bookmarked, but I want to update my badge and see on patch collection. I was just looking at one site but then realised they sell loads of TRA friendly bits. I'd prefer my money to go to a sensible place 😁

EmpressaurusKitty · 10/06/2026 12:09

Hi @RumNotRun!

No merch suggestions I’m afraid, but nice to see you here. Although you missed the adventure ☹️.
